Tide Guide

The link above is for the National Institute for Nuclear Physics and Department of Physics of Udine, they have online tide predictions for free. Closest areas to Pattaya are Sattahip and Bangkok, should only make a difference of a couple minutes. Just noticed they have Ko Si Change on there, just off the coast of Sriracha. That should be as close as you need.

thanks for the links

somewhat helpful

for the experts:

hoping someone has a quick answer

save myself some research time

how can you tell

without a chart table or time prediction

if the tide is coming in going out or at the high tide or low tide point?

i tried to tell by watching 30 waves come in

but can only really tell after about 30 min of watching one spot

also how long does the tide stay at the high or low point or is that a quick passing moment in time that doesn't really exist

the tide is either rising (flow?) or falling (ebb?)

If you are familiar with the area you're interested in, you should have a rough idea of what the water level looks like round about high and low tide. To figure out if it's coming in or going out at points in between the only way I've ever found is to look at the sand above the point the highest waves are reaching. If the sand is wet, the tide is going out - if dry then the tide is coming in. This is, of course, pretty tricky on a flat beach like Pattaya and the surrounding area!

Slack water (the point around high and low tide) varies from place to place, but you can reckon on about half an hour to an hour of no discernible change.
