Its inaccurate. FCO has advised against all but essential travel through the deep south for at least 2 years and Preah Vihear for several months. It merely advises vigilance in Bangkok.

Have you ever been in a third world country, if yes you know better Thailand is not a third world country.

And isalso not incompetent but is trying to make the best decission out of two bad ones.

The tourist wont be happy if this would happen in Angola or Nigeria.I am not saying they are happy now but they relative safe,and too bad if they did miss thanksgivingday.

Cambodia was once great. Ever seen the Angkor Wat? They fell to 3rd world. Thailand hit it's high water mark in the early 90's and may have come close to making it to developed country status but a country this economically weak can't afford missteps like this. Really it's just missteps by the protesters I know many smart and ambitious Thai people who are strangled by the environment this creates.

3rd in the world per capita for handgun deaths - Maniacle, fatalistic drivers ,no adherance to safety standards for busses , train, autos, etc., a thoroughly corrupt/inept civil aviation authority ..

I'd put in the top 3 most dangerous (for tourist destinations ), and I've traveled through S African nations plenty.

Wasn't there PAD , " Security " firing pistols in Bangkok the other night and in response, police retreated into the zoo?
