He can only get a Non-Immigrant O visa if you and he marry. To extend his visa he will need to show that he has enough money to support you.

Thailand has no diplomatic representation in Cuba. He'll have to apply in the USA. Tell him to contact the Thai Consulate at Florida. They MIGHT let him have an O visa, but strictly he is not eligible until he is married to a Thai. It sounds to me as though he not going to be able to show sufficient funds to enable extensions in Thailand.

Unless your boyfriend is a professional/specialist, is 100% literate in English or Thai (i meniton this fact as he has not asked his visa questions questions himself in this forum) or has the funds to start his on business/venture, then you both need to clearly understand that finding legitimate work in Thailad would be extremely difficult.

can he use the work permit to extends his visa if he could get some job here? is this cheaper to stay than showing the bank account?

speaking of doing the business. Can foreigner open a little restuarant here? or what else foreigner can do legally? He really want to go here. He can't question by his own because he doesn't have a chance much to go to the Internet like I do. So I'm the one who find out the information of the possibility to living here together.

Anyway thank you everyone to give me more information. :o Thank you very much.

The USA and Cuba do not have diplomatic relations and as such the USA may not allow a Thai visas to be issues to Cuban nationals from within the USA.

If you were to marry while in Thailand then he would have to have the appropriate forms from a Cuban embassy before the marriage could be registered, this could cause lots of problems for you.

Thanks for that Morgan. I knew there was no Thai physical presence in Cuba and the Thai list for 2005 doesn't show that joint accreditation. That Cuban guy can contact the Thai Embassy in Mexico for his visa. Royal Thai Embassy Paseo de la Reforma, Lomas de Chapultepec, 11000 Mexico D F Tel (52-55) 5540 4551
