Not sure on your budget and for how long your group will be staying but in CR we have one Hostel (Sabun Nga), i assume they are not expensive.

For renting a minibus with driver not include gas for 6-12 hours = 1200-1500 Baht

Minibus renting without driver and gas = 1200-1400 Baht

If you have no intention to visit places far from town i recommend you use the tuk tuk, song taew or linebus which are cheaper.

Also it is cheaper if you take a bus ride then renting a car, Mae Sai, Chiang Saen or Chiang Khong area are easier to reach with a bus.

Renting a minibus is handy if you go somewhere far of town like to Doi Tung or Doi Mae Salong.

Perhaps other CR forum members can share the transportation info to you since i'm not so familiar with CR town.

Cheap room , beautiful garden , peace and quiet location , 10 min on foot from to city center
