lawrence86
Hey all, I was just wondering if either apartments or hotels would be cheaper to rent for 6 international students. plus, how is the public transport system in Chiang Rai? As 6 seater cars seem expensive to rent..
konjianghai
Not sure on your budget and for how long your group will be staying but in CR we have one Hostel (Sabun Nga), i assume they are not expensive. Info from Hostel.com of Sabun-Nga : http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Chian...a-057026.en.htm Their own website both in Thai and English. They seems to have alot of facilities might suit to your international students. http://www.sabun-nga.com/ http://www.sabun-nga.com/home/modules.php?...wpage&pid=1 Chiang Rai - HI-Sabun Nga 226/50 Sankhong-Noi Road Muang Chiang Rai 57000 Thailand Tel. 66 53 712290 / 716440 Fax. 66 53 711869 [email protected] Hostelling Internatonal Sabun-nga Chiangai โรงแรม บ้านนานาชาติสบันงา เชียงราย 226/50 ถ.สันโค้งน้อย อ.เมือง จ.เชียงราย 57000 Tel : (+66) 0-5371-2290 Fax : (+66) 0-5371-6440 Webmaster : [email protected] To make reservation for room, restaurant, etc. Please contact [email protected] Other accommodations you might interest in. http://www.tourismchiangrai.com/sponser/ma...gsonguesthouse/ http://www.petchsiam1991.com/eng/ http://www.diamondparkinn.com/hotel/index.html This Home Stay locate 6 km from the airport. http://www.namchong-garden.com/index.php For renting a minibus with driver not include gas for 6-12 hours = 1200-1500 Baht Minibus renting without driver and gas = 1200-1400 Baht http://www.tungluangtour.com/en_index.php If you have no intention to visit places far from town i recommend you use the tuk tuk, song taew or linebus which are cheaper. Also it is cheaper if you take a bus ride then renting a car, Mae Sai, Chiang Saen or Chiang Khong area are easier to reach with a bus. Renting a minibus is handy if you go somewhere far of town like to Doi Tung or Doi Mae Salong. Perhaps other CR forum members can share the transportation info to you since i'm not so familiar with CR town.
