FrankT

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I recently picked up my Ninja 650 but Kawasaki only had the Thai version of the manual, did anyone managed to get an English manual?

Hope to hear.

Tnks

Frank

Will be here soon, keep pushing your dealer...like i am :)

Yes, I am too. Phuket says he has ordered several and will be calling all the farang who bought n's and f's recently.

In the mean time, this might help:

http://www.magnum1.com/Ninja-650/650_Manua...vice-Manual.pdf

If that fails you can go here

http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=dd8...e7c1d45e5e5a3c5

OR here

Looking now those links appear to be from Spponmans above mentioned website

Those service manuals are from 2006, the one on Magnum from 2005. Yawn.

Kawa Chiang Mai said that they don't have the English ER6n 2010 manual yet or they had run out - not sure - and promised to call me when they get it. They seemed to think that that will happen soon but TIT so I wasn't going to hold my breath.

Thanks for the feedback guys, when I picked up my plates at Rama 9 recently there was a Thai girl working there, nickname Bird, who spoke very good English and seemd pretty switched on, will give her call again today to push and agree that if we all keep pushing our respective dealers then maybe some day something might happen.

Next step would maybe be writing a letter to Bangkok Post and Nation...

thanks for the links, lots of stuff there, I managed to down load the service manual which is helpfull but it's the real mechanic kind of stuff.

In addition still would like to have the 'owners manual' so I know how to check the various fluid levels, can see what the tire pressure should be etc etc.

That's a joke, right? :)

Not if I still have not received anything by the end of next month, Kawasaki should just get their act together, if we pay serious money think we are allowed to expect serious service

Hate to be nit-picky but it sure takes a stretch of the imagination to interpret "recently picked up" and "only Thai service manual" and "did anyone manage to get an English manual" as "I bought a 2005/2006 Ninja 650R".

IMO the whole sentence only makes sense in the context of someone having bought a brand new bike from the dealer just now.

Are you honestly telling me that you took the OP to refer to a 4 year old bike? Because in that case, my apologies!

Well the bikes just came out, have some patience. You live in Thailand, so what gave you the idea that you are entitled to an English manual? I know that sure as hel_l if you bought a bike in Germany they'd give you a German manual.

I am happy that Kawa provides an English service manual for free. I don't think they have to at all. Also, the service at the Kawa dealer in Chiang Mai is really perfect. I also seriously doubt that "pressure" will speed up the process. TIT. A smile goes much further in this country than a frown.

I indeed just bought the bike and very happy with it.

If you buy something in Europe you get a manual with about 10 different languages, 2 weeks ago bought a Schubert helmet in Singapore and again the manual contains full explanations in many different languages.

I have lived here now 11 years and getting sometimes a bit tired of always smiling and being krengjai in this land of mai pen rai.

I believe it is illegal to share copyrighted files, or show illegal download locations on Thaivisa.com (maybe I'm wrong)

The official manuals can be bought from a Kawasaki Dealer, the Service Manual costs US$ 74.95 (part 99924-1418-01), and the User Manual costs US$ 15.95 (part number 99987-1499).

Kawasaki Manuals can be bought here Select your build year, and Marketing Name... after this you get a menu where you can select your models manual. For some models, example the Ninja 250R you better select the Kawasaki UK site as the USA model is not the same to the Thai version.

No need to buy- Kawasaki gives them to customers for free. They provided English manuals for my Ninja 250R and ER6n, and I expect they'll have the manual for my Ninja 650R soon enough.

(And I agree that there is no reason to EXPECT an English manual here in Thailand, but it's a nice courtesy that they provide one).

Dear Tony, it's has nothing to do with or what Kawasaki Thailand is going to offer in the near future, anybody who reads the Thaivisa rules, will see that it is illegal to post links to copyrighted material, direct links, torrents or any sort of downloading locations which point to illegal material/copyrighted material.

Therefore I will again ask the moderators to deleted the links to the illegal download websites...

Has anyone signed up for this Filesend service and successfully downloaded any of these files? I'm always wary of downloading stuff from sites I've never heard of...

You don't need to sign up for it. Just wait for the "Your download link will appear in X seconds" in the lower left.

I don't see any links to copyrighted material or "illegal download websites".

BTW, what's your definition of an "illegal download website"?

Hi Tony, I would also be very interested in knowing who at Kawasaki Big Bike give you the English manuals for free?

Kawasaki (like any good company) gives ALL of their customers free user manuals. What's the big deal? Are you upset because it's free or because it's English? You gonna give Toyota a hard time because they came up with an English manual for my Vigo? Or Canon because they gave me an English manual for my camera?! I know that my friends who have bought big bikes from Yamaha and Triumph were given user manuals. No doubt it's the same with BMW and Ducati. The kind folks at Kawasaki gave me some other stuff with the understanding I would not share it or talk about it, probably because they figure some troll like you would come along and try to cause mischief. What's your problem anyway?

You're pretty funny Richard since you post links to your site all the time and 90% of the content and pictures on your site are blatantly plagiarized (stolen) from other sites. I see on the front page right now you have articles stolen from http://www.superstreetbike.com and http://racingblips.dailyradar.com and http://www.suzuki-racing.com, etc. etc. ad nauseum... What a hypocrite.

Articles stolen, wow. We publish press releases, and press releases are for publications. Also we have our own content, which is often copied by others.

A website like http://racingblips.dailyradar.com/, collects articles from many different sources, you can compare it to something like digg.com, reddit.com, or even newsvine.com. I'm pretty sure you will also find our articles at many other RSS or web2-digg-like websites.

Anyway, as I said in a previous posting Kawasaki sells the manuals in PDF format, prices are US$ 74.95 and US$ 15.95.

@Scubabuddha

How can I “chastise” Kawasaki, about "illegal material/copyrighted material" if they are the copyright holder? I was only interested as it will help some people who did not get a copy of the English Ninja 250R manual.

Yup. It's called customer service, I believe. Quite the amazing invention!

Anyway all this is really :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi All,

Just to let you kow that I managed to pick up an English language owners manual at the Kawa shop in Pattaya (Sukhumvit road between Ptya Klang and Ptya Thai).

The same dealer has a great shop with accessories too next door, I picked up a nice tankbag for Bht 1300.-, worth a visit.
