Chonburiram
Hello Bosse, Wish you a nice trip! If stranded without accommodation you still could ask politely at any Wat if it would be possible to stay for the night. Do not expect any comfort but there would be a bathroom/toilet and even the possibility to wash your trousers/shirts (yes, they have washing powder, soap... shampoo? I don't think so ) . Take a isomat and one of these cheap thin long trousers with you. Do not get up after 6:00, of course, no alcohol/sex during your stay, always be aware where you are, be patient and very respectfull... act normal... Maybe you take a picture from you with the abbot or the monk who takes care for you+ your bicycle, ask for the name of the Wat, email and tel.nr. if available ( don't forget sending them the picture!), this would be good as recommendation for the next time you would like/have to stay in a Wat overnight. This is all best done when you arrive, because in the morning monks are quite busy. Before you leave donate (not down from 100฿ per person, please ) to a donation box or in an envelope to the abbot or monk who looked after you. Again, enjoy your trip, CB
keestha
Also in smaller places, and along the major roads, there are rooms for rent for travellers. Often it will not be indicated in English though. Watch out for signs saying ห้องพัก ( hong pak, room for sleeping) or โรงแรม (rong raem, hotel). Also, these signs often display the number 24, which claims that they are ready to rent out rooms 24 hours per day. Happy cycling.
