My sister in law has recently applied for a visitors visa to the UK and has just today recieved a text on her phone saying that the UK embassy has looked at her paperwork and are returning her passport. She has phoned the embassy but has to go there on Monday but she is excited.......anyone knows if this is good or bad news as they have not said on the text whether she has passed or not

Has anyone experienced this at all and what was the outcome????

Many thanks

For data protection and privacy reasons the text never says what the outcome is. All it means is that the application has been decided and her passport is ready for collection. Passports are returned in sealed envelopes, so she will not know the result until she collects it and opens the envelope.

Hopefully she has been successful.

BTW, she should collect her passport from the VAC at Regent's House, not the embassy.
