Saturday Night Movies At Cmu

Last night a friend and I went along for the first time to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was advertised as showing at 7pm in the Auditorium. However, the doors were locked at 7pm and there was no-one else around that seemed to be there to see a movie. We then checked out the Arts Centre across the road as we had noticed in the past that the movies were normally shown there. Same story - locked up and no-one around. Given that the schedule says they show a movie every Saturday night, I reckon someone who's seen one there and maybe has a clue as to what happened last night might read this. No big deal, just curious. Also in two minds as to whether to try again in the future.

only been once, about six months ago, it was on the roof of the arts building, near the ballet school, same side of Nimanheiman as Warm Up but a little further towards Suthep Rd. Although tried a few times before but to no avail.

Not sure what teh deal with the cinema is during the wet season. you know what it's like - the slightest sign of rain and you can't go outside, never mind set up an outdoor cinema.

the movie was shown but you rapped on the wrong door

when entering nimmha.rd from suthep rd take the second gate to the left into the parking lot of the cmu art center ,proceed straight ,look up ,see a target ,that used to be lit but isn't any more.that is the roof top mentioned before.

the movies-films are shown in that building when the weather is not permitting on the second floor in a small airconditioned auditorium otherwise on the rooftop.there is a lit sign on the second floor indicating which one.

when you initially get to the building on the groundfloor you will see a tall poster showing the lineup for the entire year of the 'new space for thinking ' venue.to the left of it is the staircase. be on time as the movies start usually at 7:00sharp if not a little earlier.

for current info check the blog of chiang mai's outstanding film critic thomas ohlson who provides for us free and never tiring

-thank you thomas-- if you should read this thread-- for your selfless contribution
