ScubaBuddha
Fun. I would be happy to finish as an "also ran" at one of these races.
ttakata
Nice to see real bikes being used to their potential. That Aprilia RS is awesome, wish I had one. I'm guessing this FIA track must be big, wide, and fast? What gear were you guys hitting on the straights? I've never seen this track but I have a D-Tracker 250. I'm afraid it will be too slow and boring if this track was designed for superbikes and cars. What do you guys think? I see Bira has a kart track, but is that too small for a DTX250 and would they allow me on the kart track? Once again, I'm in BKK so I've never seen BIRA in person. I don't want to ride down there just to find out my bike will suck there. Edited August 18, 2010 by ttakata

I don't want to ride down there just to find out my bike will suck there. I've seen D-Trackers and smaller bikes on the main track at BIRA. You probably wouldn't want to race a D-tracker on that track but there's no problem getting out there to just ride the track. There are regular D-Tracker races every quarter on the go cart track at BIRA. Ride On! Tony
BigBikeBKK
Fantastic Pirelli Track Day at BIRA Circuit! This has to be my favorite pic of the day A few more pics in no particular order- Tiger and Gerhard took the LONG WAY AROUND to BIRA- from Bangkok to Wang Nam Kiao to Chachoengsao to BIRA! Getting ready for the "Blue Race". (Blue is supposed to be the beginner group...) Note the race slicks and race fairings... Pair of Gixxers First time taking the Gixxer on a track- wow- what a weapon! Had a great time chasing this Ducati around the track for 10 exciting laps. Managed to take him right at the finish line! Gerhard was giggling like a school boy after a couple of sessions on his new GSX-R Absolutely beautiful day to ride! Not too hot, nice breeze and not a drop of rain! Awesome track day! Can't wait for the next one! Ride On! Tony
BigBikeBKK
Some pretty cool crashes- (don't worry, everyone walked away in one piece) Busted up GSXR- Can you spot the owner? Rashed up R6 (Apparently this was a Pattya rental... Ooops!) This poor fellow's Honda went up in flames... I think he's trying to throw dirt on the flames? It didn't work... Thank goodness the BIRA Fire Crew was so quick to react... Ride On! Tony
BigBikeBKK
Couldn't tell if he was trying to douse the flames or perhaps water the "seed" and start a Honda tree Was cool to see some familiar faces from Chiang Mai- Tim was there to watch the fun and West got out and did some laps on his beautiful new KTM. I hope Johnny Sned (former owner of Gerhard's GSXR and soon to be resident of Chiang Mai) won't mind me copying some of his pictures which he posted on the SSR forum: Some youtube clips too! Gerhard on his new GSX-R: Race start: So much fun! Can't wait to do it again! Ride On! Tony
