A Nice Thought From A Friend

Life is full of surprises a friend sent this to me and I found a lot of truth in it. The surprise I have known this guy for three decades never thought of him sending poems guess he is just a softy after all. So I will share his kind thoughts with others. He didn't write it that I'm sure of.

Reminiscing

Life is short and goes by fast,

And I find myself reminiscing about the past.

Late in the evening when I’m alone,

I often think of people I have known.

We were young and at loose ends,

Which formed a bond for us as friends.

There where many fun-filled days

And then we went on our separate ways.

It was decades ago when our paths crossed,

But over the time, the contacts where lost.

Some must be forever gone, I’m sure,

While others probably still endure.

I hope their lives have all been good,

As they deservedly should

I long to know where they might be,

And I wonder if they ever think of me.

Do you still keep in touch with the guy? If so it's only fair you send him one back Ray

Yep there are about seven people that I have known for decades and we always stay in touch. Friendships built in good times and bad are the ones that truly endure. The good time friendships fade away, the ones that survive the trips to the pits are forever. I try to send photos of the bike rides here since he really enjoys that. When I look back over life, I find that have made true friends from many walks of life. The one thing that stands out is everyone of them at one time or another, we have helped eachother through difficult times sometimes them sometimes me. Knowing these preople have made me a very wealthy man indeed. even when I don't have money.

I got one six days ago - not quite in your league for poignancy, though:

Hello <name>

Is this your email address?  Paul H...... found it for me.  Please reply

if you know me.

Cheers

Joe

He always was straight to the point!

We had a good talk about Thailand, retiring, financial matters. Maybe he'll be joining ThaiVisa one day...
