It would be foolish to relie on the website for an answer.

You must get an engineer from the phone company to visit the house.

I had a PM from someone two days ago asking for help.

The website says he is in the ADSL area but the engineer said he cannot have it.

Thetyim,

What the website tells you is that you are, or are not connected to an adsl enabled exchange.

When it is adsl able, the website will tell you to contact their office!

When not, at least you don't have to bother running to their office...

In Pattaya for example, TT&T will not send an engineer to your house. Never.

They do not check out your line before they hook you up...

Wether they hook you up or not is only based on the distance of your house to the exchange. If less then 3km they will hook you up, if over 3 km they simply refuse...

This way they sharply reduce outcalls for their engineers, as it is pretty much guaranteed a 512kbps adsl link will work at 3 km line distance. Heck, in most cases it'll work at 6km!

When I applied they didn't know the exact location of my house, so they gave me a map of where the exchange was located and asked me to check out how far to my house :o

It was 6.5 km, so I lied, told them it was 2.9 km, they hooked me up and it's workin pretty good ever since. Never saw an engineer!!!!
