bangkok?

how about

NongKhai?

Udon Thani

No signs of crackdowns around here.

Jaba business is going on here in Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani as usual.

Why is there never a so called "crackdown" on Nigerians who're selling coke?

Can't be a crackdown, cause it never cracks, or it cracks? Yes, it's possible that it cracks there....:jap:

Did I miss something or did this do the usual and go way off topic? What has this got to do with drug busts?

Just taking out the trash. All sorts of seditious types liable to get picked up with the riff-raff when you hose down the gutters. I note that illegal possessor of grenades got himself tripped up in the spring clean. Chakkawat residents will finally be able to sleep safe in the knowledge he'll illegally possess grenades no longer. A welcome development, and that's an understatement!

An (ornamental?) bullet casing and a notebook. Well, I'll be...quite the haul of contraband taken off the streets for good, as well. Looking forward to the photos of the illicit bullet and seditious notebook being proudly displayed for the paparazzi by the Brave Men & Women who heroically delivered Justice the big W today.

Hoo-rah.

A little curious about the note book was it the computer type. Mine would cost you 70,000 Baht not exactly a amount to be trivialized. On the other hand it could have been a 200 Baht paper one.

Yes for sure when you clean the gutters you never know what you are going to get. Kinda ignorant to throw it back because you were looking for drugs. Just my opinion shared by the police. Why do it twice if you don't have to.

They did not mention drugs they had found a little bit unusual. Maybe they were just all small time crooks. Just the beginning folks don't get your hopes up and don't condemn them give them a chance. In six months when it is all said and done and we can see what they did with them we will be in a better position to Judge.

They can hoover up dealers and declare "crackdowns" until they're blue in the face, it won't make an iota of difference (apart from filling up more jail cells). The drug scene, like nature, abhors a vacuum. All those caught up in the sweep will be replaced by other chancers within days. And the meth will keep coming.

I don't know why they bother.

It's a charade for the benefit of the public to make it appear as if they're doing something to battle an un-winnable war against the human genome.

To be fair to law enforcement, they're in a pretty tough spot. You cannot win a 'War' against addictive substances, but you sure can lose the 'War' for public opinion as it's human nature to just - do - SOMETHING...when faced with a crisis (never mind whether or not that action is productive or even logical, it's our fight or flight nature that makes us think anything > nothing). For those caught in the middle of a public demanding ACTION on one side, and the overwhelming demand for the vile chemicals on the other...they're kind of in a no-win but can-lose mess.

At least they're not killing addicts. That's pretty uncool. A pointless charade beats out a pointless slaughter any and every time. So. at least, there's that...

Some of you people need to read more.

They have arrested several Nigerians. They also tried to arrest more, raided multiple rooms but didn't find anything.

One room that did contain something had 162 gram of Ice. That is good for a 20 year sentence.

One western journalist tags along with some of the raids and live-tweets about them when it occurs.
