Red Ginseng

Specifically Korean RED Ginseng, not just a ginseng drink in a red bottle.

Almost any form is okay (tea, gel, liquid, whatever) but I am seeking a serious suppliment.

If you know of someplace local or a supplier to order from, I would appreciate knowing about them.

Thanks.

what's the difference between the red ones and the ordinary ones ?

I don't know if this is what Dustoff wants it for but red ginseng is reported to have strong antioxidant properties and has been used as a alternate treatment for lung cancer.

The best quality of Korean Ginseng is sold at little kiosks in front of Tops stores. Also many pharmacies carry the same brand.

The brand is Il Hwa Company Website.

The color of various types of ginseng is due to the processing. The Korean style process yields the red color and it tends to have a heating effect on the body. The Koreans have it down to a science and petty good at keeping out pesticides and other toxins.

It's not cheap however but if you ever test them side by side it's a pretty clear superiority.

Unfortunately lack of market forces in Thailand means it's stupid expensive compared to the prices in the US.

There are some other red ginsengs available from Chinese origins. They don't seem to have anywhere near the effect and likely have more chemical issues.

Can check the big Chinese Pharmacy at Gat Luang for some Chinese origin choices.

For a cheaper "adaptogen" cocktail some prefer

Reishi Mushrooms, ginger and Jiao gulan teas which pack a good punch but nowhere near as pricey.

Incidentally most people end up needing adrenal gland support from consuming sugars, starches, dairy, caffeine and alcohol.

If a person gets off the carb fueled diet and fuels primarily with healthy fats and proteins then the adrenal fatigue usually subsides. Often times a person can keep a vice like coffee and feel pretty good once they stop hammering their pancreas for insulin control of blood sugars.

Carbs aren't an essential macronutrient. Just ask some Eskimos

I used to buy the Korean ginseng from the Kiosk @ Tops KSK. When they put it on sale I would stock up. It was still expensive. Then a couple of years ago I switched to the Chinese variety that they sell at the large pharmacy at Kad Luang. It costs a heck of a lot less and I actually feel better and have more energy with the Chinese brand. I still buy it there. But to each their own. Maybe do a comparative test to see what works best for you.

It looks like time for me to jump back in here..

To be brutally honest, yes, lung/spine cancer issues are my interest in the Red Ginseng. Thank you for your wishes.

CobraSnakeNectie is correct - the Korean Red Ginseng I seek is not a color variety of the root but is red due to the processing that brings out the best of the possible cancer-fighting ingredients.

The GSD drink recommended above is what I initially rejected as a 'ginseng drink in a red bottle' as it is merely white Ginseng loaded with junk chemicals.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I know the choices are few and expensive indeed. Amazon(dot)com actually has offerings that seem reasonable but I haven't used them and don't know what to expect in terms of shipping and customs.

The 'real' Korean Red Ginseng is very popular indeed in Hong Hong and I was kind of hoping that someone imports to Thailand at more reasonable prices than the kiosks in TOPS but I am willing to spend whatever it takes for the best quality. Not only for the hoped-for cancer benefits but at this stage some extra energy and immune system boost can't hurt, eh?

Thank you all for your kindness.

B) strange what you say: The GSD drink recommended above is what I initially rejected as a 'ginseng drink in a red bottle' as it is merely white Ginseng loaded with junk chemicals.

The bottle is brown and the labeling at 50% dark red this is right as most red ginseng product are packed in red / gold package. If it is such important best I can consult is book a promo flight to Seoul, rent a car and go to the half island KANGHWA, northern part and visit the Ginseng market where you get all form of Ginseng straight from the farmer at the best price. Large companies which produce the drinks buy ther too.

Then buy a large reserve of lyphilisated red Ginseng and you have a high concentrated product which serve you and your health over many years ... ;)

When I was in Korea last year, I bought some of the fresh roots and brought them back. Also brought back whole dried roots. there are many grades. I have a friend in Korea that would proabably source this stuff for you at a small profit. PM me if interested and I will ask him. If he says yes, I'll connect you. He is completely trustworthy in my view. Or, maybe I could source some in October as I am planning to go to his wedding then. Let me know.
