thaibeachlovers
Is there any such thing? Cheapest I can find on the internet is S$28 a night. Is there anything around half that, that someone has actually used? I don't care if it's decrepit- it's only for a few days. Thanks in advance. edwinclapham
Hostel bookers (dormitories ) are coming up with beds for around about S$12/13 per night There are some for as little as S$7... http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/singapore/singapore/54440/
thaibeachlovers
Thank you very much for that info. It's looking much better now. I googled "hostels in Singapore", but couldn't find any like that. Problem is that there is so much on the internet, it's sometimes impossible to read enough to find what we want. Ulysses G.
This used to be ther cheapest place to stay in Singapore, but it seems to have finally closed. However, it did not look different from this when it was open. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Mitre-Hotel-Singapore/549042

ripstanley
For the price you are asking I hope you do not drink alcohol. The cheapest beer I found at an eatery in Chinatown was $5 for a long neck That was in 2010

Captain Chaos
Try the Prince of Wales... Aussie backpacker style pub, with dorm room accomodation upstairs. The original version is in Dunlop Street, Little India. They usually have some sort of 'beer of the week' style promotion on in the pub. Lots of great, and relatively cheap, Indian food to be had in the vicinity (obviously). They also opened a branch on Boat Quay, but I suspect this will be more expensive due to the location, however you can but ask. Also several backpacker style hostels in Mosque Street in Chinatown. Usually located upstairs in shophouses with karakoke bars downstairs. You won't lack for something to do! Several 'budget' hotel chains around, such as Hotel 28 and Fragrance Hotel, but guess these will be more expensive.
