Cambodian Seamstress Brutally Murdered In Rayong

The body of a brutally beaten 40-year-old Cambodian woman was found chained to a bicycle near a trash area in Rayong. A fertilizer bag covered her head and battered face. A nearby resident said she heard a woman screaming at 3 a.m., but did not go outside to check.

"A nearby resident said she heard a woman screaming at 3 a.m., but did not go outside to check."

Amen. My thoughts exactly.

So, a screaming woman at 3 am is apparently nothing out of the ordinary in Ranong. Note to self.....

Look up the Kitty Genovese murder in NYC ... woman attacked over a half-hour period in a densely populated middle-class neighbourhood with possibly over 30 persons hearing portions of the attack. She eventually died of her injuries. A lot of people thought it was a lover's quarrel or that someone else must have already called the police. Nothing unusual about Rayong here...

Fact is some people are scared to interfere. Happens in your place too. And in the place you come from...

Many people are afraid even to the point of calling Police. This is the time to collect stones, not throw them.

Absolutely right, people who have "tried to help" get maimed or killed for their "interference".

We were in Karon for a few days last year and there was gunfire in the driveway of the hotel opposite. You never saw so many Thai and foreigners run away and hide. One of our friends, a westerner married to a Thai tried to tackle the man with the gun - stupid, even the BiB were hiding.

Fortunately our friend was not successful and the man got away.

The police investigation will be closed soon. 1. it is a foreigner, possibly an illegal worker 2. She is from Cambodia 3. She is a woman, 4. She isn't rich 5. The police, prosecutor and judge will receive an envelope in case the culprit is dumber than dumb. It is as with the tortured little girl, after two weeks it is just another foreign parasite feasting on the riches of Thailand.

Thailand and it's authorities show constant disdain to human life, when they have no money or come from abroad.

Very very true be it Thailand or elsewhere ( I'm in Australia Perth )

Most people are to scared to even look out the window when carp like this happens

In my street we are 2 people who DO GO OUTSIDE a steet with 200 houses only 2 have the balls to stand up against antisocial behaviour

Why are they scared cos there is no protection from the police after they fear property damage / personal injuries by the villains

can you blame them not realy

BUT if we all stand together as good people there are more of us young and old that are good stand up everyday people than there are villains

I will go down fighting to protect me my family and my nabours why cos I won't be bullied by antisocial villains

hold on a minute

"said that at 3 a.m., she heard the sound of a woman crying out in soi Samrit 1, near the crime scene, but she did not come out to check."

"Because her head was covered by a fertilizer bag, and her hands tied, with her feet bound to a bicycle, it appeared she got killed at another place, before being brought here to dump."

Anyone else confused about this presumed corpse crying out!

Yes it happens everywhere. In a recent murder case in Brisbane, there have appeared several witnesses who were afraid to intervene or thought it not worth while to call the police. Fact is, many people are getting too scared to 'front up'

Not much to go on. But this wasn't a robbery. And this doesn't look like a sexual assault. Revenge? If she is not rich, no business competition involved, - than what? Crossed some animal's interests back home? Smells Khmer ways.

I agree with the sentiments of people here. And yes, it does happen everywhere and in the place where I live. I was not trying to single Ranong out.

However, I disagree with the fact of non-interference to help a human being.

I believe a dead lion is better than a live dog - I could not stand by idly and let an attack place.

I too but I am not rational or thinking clearly when I jump into such a situation ... it will probably lead to my death some day but I can't control my instincts when I hear cries or screams of either an animal or a human and I cannot stop myself from interfering and / or jumping in to do something .. I just have to go and do something to help ... I don't think at that time as to what will happen after ... And I may never know !!... but if I do survive it ... I will know I did the best I could to save a life...
