Someone should have Jatuporn how he would describe the rice scam. If pouring billions of baht down the drain in a failed attempt to lift rice farmer's incomes, and at the same time enriching wealthy landowners, rice millers, storage owners and corrupt officials, isn't corruption and abuse of power, what the bloody hell is?

If memory serves me right he was in office when the bill was brought in he said nothing then. He may not be the sharpest knife in the drewer but surely he was not dumb enough to think it was going to work?

He should go home in this time of health crises and let his mother take care of him.tongue.png

Edit

I was wondering if the new red shirt schools will get Pads and be under the Minister of Education.

if the country stagnates will there be a price hike or a tumble on everyday things,,,,?? anyone please,,,,,

My guess would be uncontrolled rampant inflation.

I expect that this will actually boost the PM's support. Voters who are in the middle will sympathize with the PM. The perception will be furthered that the PM is working in the interests of Thailand and not one particular interest group if that interest group complains. The statements from the UDD are just words. It acts to show that the UDD is tough and is sticking to its 'principles', even though the reality is that the UDD knows that if it turns on the PM it will be sent back into the wilderness. Methinks this is all for show.

"The perception will be furthered that the PM is working in the interests of Thailand"

How do you "further" something that doesn't exist?

I was wondering what he was talking about when he put UDD and their principals in the same sentence. Their principals are what Thaksin tells them they are. Why listen to a man who urges his followers to burn Bangkok down. What kind of principals were they using when they invaded an unarmed hospital?

Who is Pheu Thai without the Redshirts?

Pheu Thai is split in three factions:

1. no Thaksin and redshirts.

2. Thaksin and no redshirts.

3. Thaksin and redshirts.

limited insider information, not to generalize.

It's just a game people. All these red shirt leaders are so money and power hungry that they will never abandon their sugar daddy.

Indeed.

But he'll abandon them quick enough, especially after he finally realises that they will not be able to help him come home, and that they are no longer useful as a propaganda tool. Dawei is looking good at this time of year, isn't it Mr T?

" no formal votes were taken...' says a lot, does it not /

The irony.

The United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship changes leadership without so much as consultation or a ballot.

'I AM your new leader'.

Who is Pheu Thai without the Redshirts?

A political party that won an election against another political party that had significant advantages.

The UDD does represent a segment of the population whether some people want to accept that or not. However, the UDD/Redshirts were not the reason the PTP won the election, although they did bring some votes to the PTP. There was disaffection for the Abhisit government and Abhisit himself. If the Democrats ever get their house in order and a leader with charisma and leadership skills, the PTP will be toast.

Are you suggesting that PTP would have won the last election WITHOUT the red shirts? blink.png

Bloody principals. Should be running schools and stuff like that and keep their noses out of politics.

Yingluck's family, starting with Taksin, The PTP and the UDD started their abuse of power when that IDIOT stood on the stage and told his Red followers to burn down Bangkok. I don't understand what they are complaining about, The PTP bought and paid for their vote. NOT THEIR OPINION!

I think they would have won without the red shirts, appealing to the mass of middle ground voters is far more important than this noisy minority group.

They have done well to get a line up of so many people with an IQ of below 70 in that photo.

and ooh, what a target they would present should those opposing these clowns decide to mimic their 'democratic' tactics. Nuts and bolts anyone....?

Abuse of power and corruption will not be tolerated by the Red's unless of course it is in their favor such as the rediculous hike in rice pledging which has now come home to roost on these poor fellows. Thai farmers do indeed have the sharp end of the stick in Thailand however, I suggest the stop complaining as the were hoist by their own petard

What he means is Reds will rise against Yingluck if she doesn't give him and kowtow to them.

And for goodness sakes! Your idiot patron from Dubai is also an Ammart!

Yes, that is exactly what they are saying.

A shot across her bow.

If they don't get their aims met the lapdog of the lady PM,

will turn on her and again become the attack dog her brother created...

if it doesn't get the biggest soup bone it wants, but hardly deserves.

After the Cabinet Shuffle,

the Red's poster boy for psycho-demagoguery didn't get a seat at the trough, again.

So they have this lined up press moment to make threats, that what he expected in

power and cash better come though anyway, via back channels,

or they will do to this government what they did to the last.

That Kuhn T. opened Pandora's Box and the whirlwind he let out will not be controllable.

The Yingluck government are between a rock and a hard place with all the promises they made to the rural Thai's.

They can't sell the rice and they can't drop the price. They are having problems appeasing the red shirts who now want the

rewards they were promised.

It's a bit like Egypt and look what's happening there.

As for talk of borrowing trillions of baht for high speed rail links they can't even run a low speed system on it's last legs.

Who is going to travel on these trains and more importantly who will pay the fares?

All great points Jay Sata and these points can be made in any country with any government.

The name of the game is "Megaproject"

Bird flu, swine flu, Monorail, airport, new sewers, infrastructure stuff, air uses, ant-terrorist measures, arms, security, serve splendidly as "Megaproject" examples.

There are many more.

Political feed trough-ists are limited only by their imaginations.

As you well know, the object of "Megaproject" is first to "create awareness" in the form of need or (better yet) . . . . . FEAR.

There is an assessment period.

"Funds" are "allocated" usually in he form of bewilderingly massive IMF debt.

The money is piled on a board room table where the attendees take turns singing and dancing while others busy themselves filling their pants and their boots and their Gucci bags with cash.

Whatever's left on the table becomes the Project Budget.

When all the pockets, boots, bags and pants are filled up, the accountants are called and the Project Budget is drawn up.

Repeat as often as you think you can get away with it.

Oh yeah, pass the massive interest on all this IMF debt on to future generations of taxpayers and businesses.

War, especially war on an unseen enemy lends itself perfectly to this model and is by far the most profitable

however that high-speed single-rail thingie will do just fine.

"Although I am not a Minister, I am willing to stand on the side of the government ,as long as it operates with honesty," Mr. Jatupon said.

"...And if I was a Minister, I would be filling my pockets from the budget laughing all the way to the bank, as long as corruption stays the ruling policy in government!," Mr. Jatuporn added.

"Mr. Jatupon is not ready for it at the moment ... but in the future, when dire situation arises, Mr. Jatupon might step in and take the helm," Mr. Thida told the reporters.

In other words: "If you don't behave, Yingluck, and give us what we want, then our Ueber-Bully Jatuporn will take the Red Army and will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, for (Quote): the Redshirts are "objects" that could easily be controlled."
