Checkinn99 is performing The Rocky Horror Show 4 nights over Halloween 30, 31st Oct and 1st & 2nd Nov come and join in the cult musical horror comedy show. This will be a full evening of halloween entertainment which will include a stage adaption of "that" famous movie The Rocky Horror Show in theatre restaurant style... Worse yet, a Filipina will scold you that you can't take photos (you can if you buy drinks for the girls it seems). It happened to my Thai girlfriend who is a muay Thai boxer at Lumpini. I agree... pricing is always scary. as I indicated in my personal message to you .. we don't charge a cover fee on normal nights and have only previously used an entrance fee for our Blues Brothers Nights (which have been sellouts). The Rocky Horror show is a licensed musical / theatre production and we are certainly leaping from the normal night format of covers / house band entertainment. We have engaged a number of professional (paid) actors, invested in stage lighting / costumes / props /music and make-up etc, license fees to Samuel French are 10% of sales: so at best we aim to break even whilst putting on some good entertainment which hasn't been tried before. With two months of rehearsals... there are some genuine costs there. I have some reassurance however we are on the right track as over half the tickets have been sold already. Sorry you had a bad experience in regard to the photo policy... it certainly is a case of us not managing the communication process properly. We actually encourage photos but we have posted significant signage requesting not to photograph the house band whilst they are performing. This is intended to be as polite as possible explaining why.and inviting links to our facebook or youtube channel however.often the subtlety is lost with some of our staff when the signage is not seen or accepted. It is customary when band drinks are bought - photos are often taken - but this is not a requirement. I am pleased that you were able to avoid bloodshed - it has taken 12 years to get Music of the Heart band up to their hamonies to the level they are now.. I always try to avert these misunderstandings and would have been most happy to absorb any earbashing myself. HeyBruce.. you are entirely right, I first saw the RHPS in the Valhalla in Melbourne late 70's.. you had to bring your own chair.. now we might need wheel chair access for some of those original baby boomer fans. Who remembers the famous A3 Valhalla movie programs showing the month's schedule ahead? I am afraid that there will be a fair proportion of Rocky Horror Virgins attending... and apart from Transvestites, Horror, a bit of a love story and Halloween won't mean much for the younger local audience. There are however there are several "Virgins guides to Rocky Horror" here is one.. http://rockyhorror.com/participation/virgins.php Checkinn will be having its own Rocky Horror de-virginification ceremony allowing all who enter to "Give themselves over to absolute pleasure"- but details cant be released until the night. I only ask that there's nobody playing favorites, ie: friends of the band can stand up blocking anyone's view to snap away without anyone batting an eyelash (on or off stage) but when a regular customer who may not be friends with the band tries the same thing, they get a reprimand. Pardon me, but we have a strict policy concerning the handling of the instruments. An employee of Ray's Music Exchange must be present. Now, may I help you? (btw we will be flying in several members of the band from overseas and have a video link with Dan Aykroyd who will kick off the show (I am doing the interview)... he would have been here in person.. but Star Casino in Australia disrupted his scheduled return trip back through Bangkok.
