sonicboomboy
Hi all, I am wondering if the self-administered oral HIV test kit Oraquick is available to buy anywhere in LOS? It's the one recently approved by the FDA in America. I don't mind the cost since I only want a couple of units. I would also like to buy with some peace of mind that it's not a 'fake', so perhaps a hospital or well known clinic? Many thanks.
beano2274
just cause the FDA have approved it means nothing, in Thailand they still use the blood tests, if you are in Bangkok then the best place is the Red Cross Anonymous clinic
96tehtarp
I know the oral HIV tests are available in Thailand. Several years ago I had to take one at a provincial clinic approved by AIG my insurance company in order to qualify for health coverage (sickeness, not just accident). I don't know where the tests are available, however they are definitely here in Thailand.

The only possible reason for asking is that the OP believes that s/he or a "Friend" has been exposed to risk. If that is the case then the OP would be well advised to seek advise from the Red Cross Anonymous clinic . No self testing kits available in Thailand. Sheryl
Or OP plans to screen prospective partners...a bad idea even if it were possible, since the tests do not detect HIV infection in early stages when it is highly infectious.
