Thian Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 My cousin imports a lot from Asia but not from the Thai. He tried it once and didn't get what he paid for. Now he is one of the big importers to the EU but he still bans the Thai company's. Thai don't care for repeating business and would rather go for the one-time ripoff deal. He got all the business because of this and all the con-men stalls lost out. Why cant Thai people see the light and learn from this kind of thing? paulmw Posted February 21, 2015 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Just got back from a trip to BKK found the motor bike taxi’s well priced and taking an orderly turn in customers refreshing. tif Posted February 21, 2015 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Meanwhile, in other news, a Bank of Thailand spokesman was bemoaning the lack of decent infrastructure and human resources to deal with the upcoming massive influx of tourists (his words). he said basically, that Thailand was too cheap and prices should be brought into line with the likes of Singapore ... The author claims the problems are "deep rooted" but offers no explanation as to why that is. Another fluff piece telling us basically what we already know. Solution: Tell the Thai wife you really like her parents and want to help them out by renting a room in their house. They won't think you're rich then, 555. In my experience having lived nearly a decade in SIngapore and several years here, that suggestion to increase the pricing to Singapore levels is silly. For a start how does one justify increasing salaries to Singapore levels and still not being able to reach productivity levels of similar level of SGs. And those in SG aren't that good either, so just on that, this suggestion falls over Lets go subjective, Singapore generally delivers on ones expectation in commercial transactions and say the competency level of those with whom you deal. Also in that when you spend your money, you actually get service. Lastly, property pricing in SIngapore is massively inflated due to low availability, primarily due to essentially having one customer taking most of it up. This does not apply, you would see rents go from 4000THB for a house to 4000SGD for the same, an insanely silly increase.
