Chiang mai

Featured Replies

I am moving to Chiang Mai.  Can someone tell me about yoga, finess gym, bodyworks, alternative medicine in Chiang Mai.

Hello from Pattaya, and the Tourist Board of CM listed 3 Yoga places, guess they may be still open now lower season, check out with the Tourist Board, or when in CM..

Hathayoga, Soma Centre, and Yoga Center..Are those listed..

Walk along any street in CM and you will find bills advertising any of several Yoga places. There are also many Gyms, from those costly ones in hotels to places like the YMCA and World Club just outside town. There are also several spas and places offering all types of alternative medicine, not to mention independent practitioners. One place to try in the centre of town is Mankhala in Rachamankhala Rd. They do Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. It is also worthwhile to take a look at Lek Chaiya in Rachadamnoen Rd for their traditional herbal massage school. Visit the vegetarian restaurants and contact Chiang Mai Citylife magazine, a local monthly freebie. They have listings of all these and more.

In short, just ask around when you are here as there is quite a large community dedicated to living an "alternative" lifestyle.

Good luck in CM. You should enjoy living here.
