Gong Xi Fa Cai! One of the most culturally vibrant events in Bangkok returns next week

BANGKOK: -- Chinatown will hold Chinese New Year celebrations on Monday and Tuesday, giving Bangkokians the chance to watch cultural performances, eat yummy Chinese food and celebrate the Year of the Monkey.

This year the capital is spending THB4.9 million to put on performances from China in Bangkok’s Chinatown including acrobatics, dance and musical shows.

Chinese New Year's Day, or Wan Trut Chin in Thai, takes place on Monday. Traffic in the area will be closed to make way for the grand celebration.
