November 4, 200619 yr Just hooked up a new widescreen monitor [ACER 1916W], followed all instructions. Tried updating the driver of my video card [nVidia GeForce], but no new driver availabe. Also set the resolution to 1440 x 900 which is the suggested resolution for this particular monitor [16:10]. Tried other resolutions too but despite all these, the images still appear stretched. Any ideas?
November 4, 200619 yr That's strange, that resolution should be correct (1440x900). Does the monitor have an Auto button on it? This will make the monitor automatically fit the image exactly to the resolution you are sending it. One other item is that you should have an Nvidia icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop, or just right click the desktop and select 'nView properties'. In there will be a calibration button and instructions how to set it.
November 4, 200619 yr Firstly go to: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html These are the latest drivers, released just a few days ago Some programs (mainly games) do not run in true widescreen and so you might be getting a stretched 4:3 image. To get some of these to run visit this site for details: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/...title=Main_Page
November 5, 200619 yr Author just downloaded the latest drivers. Works fine now. Thanks, Tywais and Ian B.
