CDD holds event to select the best of Thailand's OTOP

BANGKOK, 18 May 2016, (NNT) - The Community Development Department (CDD) is organizing an event to select the best of Thailand's OTOP items.


The national event aims at improving the quality of OTOP products and developing them for both exporting and domestic consumption.

CDD Director-General Apichat Todilokvech revealed that the selection process of OTOP items at the national level started on May 17 and will conclude on May 26. He let on that there were a total of 40,694 OTOP manufacturers entered in the contest, of which 11,555 are eligible for the national-level competition.

The criteria for best OTOP product include structural integrity, quality control and customer satisfaction.

OTOP products? T shirts, flip flops, sunniest. All made in China. OTOP markets are a joke.

You might want to learn what OTOP means. One Tambon, One Product. The item that each province feels identifies them best. Not "T shirts, flip flops, sunniest. All made in China."
