BANGKOK, 5 September 2016 (NNT) - The Thai government is pleased with the level of international accceptance of the country’s progress in pursuing ICT advancement.

Maj. Gen. Sunsern Kaewkumnerd, spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, said that the current government’s continued efforts to develop the country’s digital technology to elevate the local economy and social standards have led to an upgrade in Thailand’s ICT ranking by such international agencies as the United Nations, the World Economic Forum and Waseda University of Japan.

Maj. Gen. Sunsern said that the U.N. has noted that Thailand’s digital development has moved the country’s ranking up 25 positions to 77th place in the list of 193 countries in 2016. He added that Thailand has also been moved up to fourth place in ASEAN by the U.N.

He added that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has placed high importance on the development of technology and innovation, particularly digital technology to propel the country towards the “Thailand 4.0” model, under which the world will see Thailand become a high-income nation, with improved livelihoods among Thais.

Is that a Thaksin-like promise coming from the clown car?

for the record, the clown-in-chief is doing many things, but nothing which will ever see Thailand "become a high-income nation, with improved livelihoods among Thais"  :coffee1:
