Multi-Room music system

Hi everyone, Looking for a company in Chiang Mai that specialises in multi room music systems including in ceiling speakers indoor or outdoor. If anyone has had any experience in installing one in Chiang Mai or is an expert themselves I would appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks

I can only second the recommendation for Neo Entertainment Gallery.

I initially had my developer handle this through their contractor, but a heavy premium was added to everything and the system wasn’t really what I wanted.

I contacted Khun Roe (Waropas Pitakanonda) from Neo Entertainment Gallery, I was not in the country, but his written English is excellent and we managed to work out the details over email, they even went to see my condo on their own initiative and talked with the interior architect (before I had told the developer that I would not go with their sound-system design, this after a dozen emails requesting changes to their design and pressing them on the price, but they took it quite well).

Neo Entertainment Gallery did wiring diagrams etc. for my developer to handle and then they did the final installation (hookup). They even talked with my developer about making a “pocket” in the wall so that my amplifiers would not extrude from the built-in furniture.

All in all a great experience, and I had even bought off-plan from a lesser known developer, when everybody knows that the proper thing to do in Thailand is rent…

Thank you very much for the detailed review. Can I please ask you what system you installed?

B&W CCM683 speakers in the ceilings and CM6 S2 bookshelf speakers in the living room, powered by Cambridge Audio amplifiers.

I am using AirPlay as the audio source since I am in the Apple eco-system and would anyway prefer a wireless router in each room.

With this system, only the AirPlay component is proprietary, I can always add another sound source to the amplifiers. I’d be hesitant with many of the other sound-systems because they want you to use their speakers, amplifiers, and control units.

Nice system. I will be in touch with them as you suggest it. Thanks

You do not need a company as there is nothing to install.  If you have a wifi network you can connect the first one to it, and then daisy chain them around your house.  The wi-fi from one connects to the next, and so on. They only need a power plug.  By far the most easy to install, and they you have the freedom to move them where you want to.  You can mount them on stands, or upside down on the ceiling, or just have them sitting on shelves.  You can send the same music to each one of them, or different music can be played on each one all from their free software.  There is even an app that I use that turns them all into an intercom from your smart phone.  So when I am in my room and the misses is in the kitchen, I can ask her to bring me more chocolate brownies.....

If you go with a hard wired system, then you are forever stuck with it.  And if you break a cable then its a real mess to fix and get at.  I have seen friends that have wired systems and there are always wires sticking out somewhere.  Each sonos speaker has its own built in amp, and the sound quality is excellent.

I can only affirm the above. I have Sonos throughout my house. Soundbars with every TV including a sub and Play 1's in the living room. Play 5 and Play 3 units in the other rooms and a Sonos amp connected to waterproof B&W speakers outside.

There is nothing to install. Just plug each unit into a power outlet. One unit requires a LAN connection to your internet router or you can use a Sonos 'bridge' if your router is tucked away somewhere. It is a very simple system and literally takes only one button push to set up. Everything is then controlled from an iPad/iPhone or Android device.  Music plays throughout the house seemlessly. Or alternatively, play music from different sources in different rooms. Internet radio, subscription services like Deezer or your own music library.

For me it worked out cheaper to purchase it all from ebay and ship it. Even after paying duty and shipping it was cheaper than the BKK price.
