Permission sought to investigate his links to alleged drug lord Xaysana

BANGKOK: -- THAI POLICE have contacted their Malaysian counterparts, requesting permission to interrogate a Malaysian drug suspect to probe his possible link to Xaysana Keopimpha’s alleged drug network.

Kamarudin bin Awang was arrested in Malaysia’s Kelantan State on Monday, weeks after Thai police had nabbed Xaysana – a high-profile Laotian – at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

“We have already contacted Malaysian police,” Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) chief Pol Lt-General Sommai Kongwisaisuk said yesterday.

He described Kamarudin as a man who had allegedly facilitated drug flows from Thailand’s North to Malaysia for years.

Probe in Xaysana drug syndicate deepens

BANGKOK: -- The investigation into the Laotian drug lord Xaysana narcotic syndicate deepens after a suspect wanted by Thai narcotic police was arrested in Malaysia with bomb-making materials.

Narcotic Suppression Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sommai Kongwisaisook said Malaysian police have arrested a suspect identified by Thai security as Sainudin with bomb making materials.

He said Sainudin is a suspect wanted for involvement in the Laotian drug lord’s operations.

He said narcotic suppression police found him responsible for bringing in drugs through the northern border of Thailand and transporting them into Malaysia.

He owns more than 30 million baht in assets in Thailand.

Sainudin has had previous dealings with Usman Salaiman – a notorious terrorist and drug lord operating in the southern province of Thailand in the past and was suspected of being critical in providing funds to finance southern insurgents, he said.

Meanwhile in the investigation into the background of the Lamborghini sports car owned by Benz Racing, Nattawat Huangmanee, otherwise known as ‘Buno’, the owner of the Buno Auto Clinic second-hand car dealership located on Rama 3 Road, reported to authorities yesterday for questioning.

He turned up in response to summons to give information related to a Lamborghini sports car registered under Kor Jor 51 Bangkok license plate that was bought by ‘Benz Racing’ or Akarakit Worarojchroendet, a well-known car racer.

30 million in assets…..could barely afford a Lamborghini?  Obviously a low man on the totem pole of drug lords. I think we should forget the whole thing and let the drug lords keep their cars, but sneakily put some Bib on the Chon Buri highway to catch the boy racers. I know they'll only get a 500 baht fine which they will neglect to pay but better than the soap opera playing pretending to catch the bad guys. How can Benz be a bad guy…he's got loads of money which means he's an excellent chap.

Who'll offer me odds on him going to clink?

Well to me it's all down to how many tests Benz racing and his pregnant wife pass. Reading, writing, listening and speaking. Pass those 4 tests empty their bank accounts into different sized envelopes and hand over the keys to the family business. Then and only then will Benz racing get a 2 year jail sentence and a free tube of lubricant.
