Facebook appeal for justice as 3 year old gets caught up in Buriram village vendetta

BURIRAM: -- A woman has gone onto Facebook to call for action after a feud between two Buriram villages turned nasty following an ordination ceremony.

 

Locals from Muang Tai and Pla Khaw villages started fighting with fists, knives and guns following the ceremony.

 

There were many injuries including the little boy who was hurt . Tnews reported that he had been also hit by a stray bullet.

 

A report of the fighting was made on the Facebook page of "Woranan Sarakhalin" who said that police had arrested no one despite the fighting happening many days ago.

 

She called for action and justice for the victims who she claimed mostly came from the Pla Khaw village who went peacefully to the ceremony and were set upon.

 

Other people suffered stab wounds and head injuries.

 

She asked if more would be done if someone had actually died during the fighting.

This is abhorrent. Again I am at a loss to explain what the cops here are for, or actually do (that is positive).

 

And agajn it'll take something going viral on social mediato shame them into action. It is frightening to think how dreadful it must have been before the days of social media

Nothing like an ordination ceremony to bring out the worst in people. Maybe local police got the temple confused with the golden spaceship and realised they were on a losing streak? Could Section 44 (?) be used to stamp out gatherings in all Buddhist temples as threats to peace and good order?
