Trump Repeats Threat To Strike Iran 'Very Hard'

Donald Trump reiterated on Thursday that the United States would strike Iran “very hard”, speaking to reporters from the Oval Office.

The president said he had been briefed on a drone attack on tankers off Egypt, describing it as part of an ongoing pattern of incidents. He did not provide additional details about the briefing, but said the situation was “going to be straightening out”.

Oval Office Remarks

Trump told reporters that Washington would assess whether there was an agreement with Iran “at some point”. He added that, regardless, the United States would carry out further action.

“It’s a little more of the same, but it’s going to be straightening out,” Trump said, referring to the drone attack on tankers off Egypt.

He then returned to his main message, saying the United States was prepared to act again against Iran. Trump framed the next steps as retaliation, saying it was “our turn to hit them”.

“Our Turn To Hit Them”

According to Trump, the United States would “be hitting them very hard” because Iran would face additional pressure following the latest incident he described.

“They know it’s coming,” he said, referring to Iran’s expectation of further action by the United States.

Trump also repeated that the possibility of a negotiated arrangement remained under consideration, but stressed that a strike would still take place. He said the federal government would see whether an agreement could be reached “at some point”.

Agreement Considered, Strike Threat Stands

In his comments, Trump linked his threat to both the prospect of discussions and the immediate intention to respond. He reiterated the central point of his earlier statements, saying that the United States would strike Iran “very hard” regardless of whether talks progress.

The remarks were made as Trump addressed reporters following the briefing he said he received about the drone attack off Egypt.
