Well done career...👍, but I don't fancy the song "SaWaDiKa". It miss what makes a song a real global hit — a sing-along hook-line or something easy to be remembered, which could be a riff; even that she repeats the same rap 3-4 times it's not something you easily rembers — but it will gain lots of streams and download, because it is Lalisa; if it was an unknown upcoming artist it would likely be of much less interest and soon forgotten.

Go into any crowded night club and see what happens with the audience, the moment the DJ plays something easy recognisable and sing-aloing, even partly covered by tech- og house-rhythms in heavy base and kick drum. It's not the rap, the majority remembers, it's the hook. A known artist with a sexy costly music-video will always gain views and streams, but it might easily be forgotten in the future.

The good old advise I learned from high level pros in music business was: When you receive a demo tape, you play 30 seconds and stop it. Walk out for a mug of coffee or a leak, and if you cannot sing something or remember a riff when you come back in the office, it's next case. I should admit, this was before the long intro's for radio hosts to make a talk over, today you will listen something like 45 seconds...😉

In Blackpink, Lisa was "The Rapper".

My late mother grew up in NY City during the big band era. I used to joke:

To my mother there are 2 kinds of music: Frank Sinatra and Not-Frank Sinatra.

So I learned early on not to question anyone's taste in music. If they like it, up 2 them.

Good luck to her but I don't really think rapping in general qualifies as music since the melody , if any , got off the bus from the get go. It should be re classified as entertainment or something. Viewed as a stand alone style of visual or aural entertainment it is better appreciated. I respect what she has done, and am proud of her. Not only a superstar pop artist but also a brand ambassador for many high end labels. But I must say at my age and growing up on rock in the bay area in the late 6'0s and 70's I dont really enjoy her new hit. No reason to go much deeper than that, I tried but could not make it through the video.

There is no way ANYONE could have walked through the domestic side BKK Suvarnabhumi and not seen these ads:
