  1. No, and it hasn’t been safe for many years. I stay I jomtien and walk the prom every day. The things I’ve see, photos hard to believe. Stick to the pool .
  2. I would never buy anything in Thailand. My neighbour bought a new build near Simon Cabaret in Patong. After a few weeks when someone was moving in, all the water pipes burst from the condo above and absolutely ruined everything underneath. When renting in Patong there was a new house built opposite me. About three years later the White House was black .Horrible . Put me off forever. I’ve always been happy renting a nice condo with great pool , where I can walk, never had a bad experience
  3. I was bitten by an ant in Phuket, standing outside waiting for a taxi. My ankle and foot became huge and I couldn’t walk for 2 days.
  4. Of course it’s not free? Who do you think pay for everything, Santa Klaus ?
  5. Sorry to say that Thai ladies do not have the best reputation in EU and UK. I saw a program on TV last year that showed live footage of what they get up to, especially in London. A friend of my brother recently married a Thai lady and needless to say he was the laughing stock of his mates. Very unkind , yes, but a lot have blokes have been to Thailand , and none can say that the prostitution is not in your face and cannot be ignored. Thailand does not have the best reputation abroad.
  6. This is the mass tourism that will be the downfall of Thailand. It’s happening for a few years already. Phuket and nearly all the islands have been decimated. Sad.
  7. You are sick and not funny. Whoever you are, get lost !
  8. I wish Thailand would make it compulsory for all Tourists to have valid travel Insurance before entering Thailand for the full period of stay. It would save so much heartache . It should announced with all other conditions in Capital letters. ( maybe Thailand are not favorable for a reason ?)
  9. Nice to see the older members of ASEAN Now back commentating!!
  10. The high costs of hotel rates which have soared since Covid, and a drop in food quality served by restaurants is blatant. I was in a 4 star hotel a few months ago and the breakfast buffet was a disgusting ! I couldn’t believe it and complained to the manager, they made a few alternatives but still, like a cheap canteen. 500 B for breakfast slop.
  11. Yes, try that and /or get a ticket sorted out on a direct flight home to Greece. some empathy needed here. He has obviously tried and failed with Thai doctors. Hopefully he has a friend to accompany him at least for a ticket and help to check in. He could have assisted help at airport if booked. That’s what I would do.
  12. Hasn’t Thailand had enough of this ! And you wonder why Thailand has a rotten reputation ? Carry on much longer and Thailand will be venue only for drunks, weirdos and druggies.
  13. If anything happened anywhere, I’d just stay out the way , or in a case like the last coup in Myanmar, leave at once. I’m not that person who joins in the chaos .
  14. Cambodians are important to Thailands workforce. They accept the worse jobs and work conditions, that most Thais refuse. Without the Burmese and Cambodians I dont know what Thailand would do. The Burmese of course come out better of the 2 countries, as they often speak very good English.
