No idea where you got that wrong information from, Thailand doesn't have any distinction between border crossings where you can or can't use an eVisa to enter. Other countries do, including Laos.

Good to hear that you've entered in Nakhon Phanom with your eVisa in the meantime.

Thanks.  seems to be some conflicting information on the internet, not a surprise there.

I think you might be confusing this with where you can ENTER Laos with a Lao eVisa, and you would be right that you cannot enter at Tha Khek.

Entering Thailand (Nakhon Phanom) coming from Tha Khek with a valid Thai eVisa, on the other hand, isn't a problem.

Hi.   No I am asking about travel back into Thailand from Laos with a Thai evisa (Non O marriage).  Im teying to figure out which land crossings accwpt the evisa.  My infprmation says Nakhon Pathom does not accept evisas.

Does anyone know if I can take the train from Khamavath vientiane and enter thailand using my evisa?  Thanks

Yes - saw a report here of Non-Imm visas being issued the next day via email.  So, he entered Laos, filed online for the eVisa, went to embassy to pay, then got it the next day (a Saturday).  An agent on-site offered him "same day" for 5K Baht.   That said, I would not count on such speedy service - but good to hear, and hope it lasts.

Note that DTV applicants report being denied in Laos, to spite having all the requested documentation, so best to go elsewhere for that one.

Thanks.  Yes, I saw this one account from Wonkitlo - the OP for this post.  I was wondering if any other people had a victory or defeat to share.  Weighing options for a course of action.

  4. Absolute Thieves!  All flights cancelled during Microsoft Outage July 2024.  I was stranded in Malaysia and they promised to refund the retrun portion of my ticket plus pay me back for the Malaysian airlines ticket I had to buy to get back to Thailand (Airasia couldnt get me on a flight back to Thailand).  Spent hours and hours emailing, tried to call, went to Don Muang in person....all to no avail.  Now they are totally incommunicado.  I have a case number, everything, They promised to refund and compensate me via email, then nothing- crickets.  The absolut worst company of any sort I have ever dealt with in my life - absolute miserable thieves.

@michael888 you shortly will start your 30 day extension (you mentioned earlier) ... Prior to expiry Obtain 60 day extension to visit wife.

With 15+ days remaining on the 60 day extension you can attend CW and obtain the Non O.

As mentioned above the option of obtaining a e-Visa Non O at eg Vientiane is an option.

Current thread running where Non O eVisa (payment for application Vientiane) was processed in hours.

Thinking obtain it at CW better option.

Thanks.  Yes, thats what I'm planning to do (CW).

This may be a workable solution. The IO did say "2 months" after all. Also, when you go back to CW you may meet a different IO who will say that 2 months is fine.

I think you were simply unlucky. I went to Immigration in Samuth Prakarn maybe 20 years ago after being married at an ampheur office for one day.  There was no problem. Don't worry! You'll be all right with the Visit My Wife visa. The IO was probably worried that you were part of a marriage scam.

Finally, did your and your wife's appearance create concern? Did you dress like respectable business people or were you dressed casually?

    We dressed in business clothes.

just go to another immigration office. I have never heard of being denied for just being married. I applied for mine the day after i was legally married. As long as you have the money in bank or all their requirements, they should not have reason to deny you except to be a nuisance.

Thanks for your reply.  I'm pretty sure I have to go the the IMM office where we are living / will live, yes?    If you know differnt please let me know.

What doesnt make sense?  Like everyone on this forum always suggests to me  - be more specific.  What about this is confusing?  Odd.

    Totally a common occurrence.

In order to get an in-country 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai you have to be married a minimum of 2 months.

There is no make a new appointment get a new immigration officer option. 😞

That's the rule, that officer was not trying to break your balls, they were trying to tell how it works.

Do whatever you need to do to buy yourself the time so that you're married for 2 months and then go back and apply for the Visa without any issue

Thank you for your reply.  This is the first I've heard of this.  I researched quite a bit before going to avoid pitfalls and never came across this information.  When you say, "There is no make a new appointment get a new immigration officer option", what would be the obstacle(s) and/ or repercussions for that course of action (if you know)?  Thanks

When I went thro the process at CW many years ago, before I could apply for a Non Imm O based on marriage I had to first get a 60 day extension of my existing permit to stay based on marriage. Was always like this wasn't it?

Thanks for your reply.  So, many years ago it was standard (or at least you were directed to) first get a 60 day extension (to visit spouse), then apply for the Non O while on that extension?

About -8 years ago my good friend got marriage visa on the third week of marriage. Took few hours. Just make another appointment, won't hurt. Right?

I guess it can't hurt.  I'm just concerned with getting the same IO.   Or seeing her when we go to The "C" department at CW and having her overrule another IO, and /or get incensed because we didn't follow her directions.  It consists of two "offices" about 3x3 meters each, with maybe 4 or 5 IOs in each office.  So I think there is a good chance she would notice us if we were to give another appointment a shot.   That's why I'm inquiring to find out if anyone has tried a new appointment.
