I agree. Absolutely allow visa free travel to Thais and at the same time restrict them from
1 buying a property
2 getting citizenship even if they have a family
3. Limit ownership of a business to 49%
etc, etc....
Charge them 20 X local fee for national parks
Double hotel rates
20 to 50 % more at hospitals
Charge them more for pharmacy goods, food, electricity, water.
Just to name a few things.

But 4 - 13 year olds and a 10 year old driver on one motorbike (all with no helmets), no problem lol

Insurance money grab continues. PLUS the 350 bht that they say is also for "insurance". Wow, absolutley raking it in. I'd go elsewhere.

Anyone who thinks this is from anything other than agri burning is either not paying attention or obtuse.

Agri burning. Its not "the wind", like Thai officials would like you to believe.
Or vehicles, factories, etc..
Thailand is now basically a giant sugar plantation. Its on fire, and we are living in the center of it.

What are you actually saying? So it went from horrendous to horrible? Less people might die this year from the toxic air?
We have gotten lucky with some southern winds coming off the gulf that have kept some days tolerable.
Keep burning those fields government, corporations and farmers. You've turned this whole country into a giant flaming sugar plantation, congratulations.

You worked for 10 years, you could have applied for PR in the mean time, and after leaving your job would not have to go anywhere as this would have been your home...
Sorry, what is a PR? Permanent Resident? Ahhh yes, good point. Should , woulda , coulda.

Can't you go to Cambodia and come back on a TP with visa exempt or with a TV? Yes, it is kind of little expensive compared to visa runs pre-covid but the option is still possible.
Hi, not sure about that. Is Cambodia open? I was under the impression all land borders were still closed. Or do you mean fly in? Sorry, what's a TP?
-
LOL. So, Guess it's 7 days, 1900 bht, Changwatthana trip, and rude looks from a <deleted> imm. officer.
So, would anyone know if any land borders are open? -

After you stop working your extension so stay based upon working is no longer valid and you need to have it canceled.
If you could qualify for another type of extension you could do that.
You cannot change to a tourist visa without leaving the country.
Thanks Joe. Other than marraige, retirement, or education, would you know of any extension options?
I remember a post about a month back stating that covid is not a viable extension for those who are currently on non imm B.
Also, currently are there any land borders open?
So is the situation basically:
Work or go back to your home country (or another place thats open)?
If anyone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated. Was thinking on taking a bit of time off but wanted to stay in Thailand. Seems crazy that ive been working here paying taxes, contributing to the society for 10 years, and it's: "work or get the f out".
Guess i shouldnt be surprised.

If you quit your job (without another lined up), what are your option visa wise? If you want to stay in Thailand as a tourist, can you still do this at this time? Thanks.

Nightmare. Its all a giant money grab. Not worth traveling to Thailand at the moment. Useless insurance, forced stays at garbage hotels - despicable practices capitalizing on the misfortune of others

I wonder if the mandatory "insurance" she had to purchase before entering the country covers muggings and/or beatings on the beach.

People are already "off" it. Mandatory "health insurance" that doesnt even pay if you get ill. Smog choked skies from the giant sugar plantation that used to be Thailand blazes away for 6 months a year. Dual pricing at everything from tourist attractions to hospitals. Is there anything i'm missing?

Agreed. This is just a huge money grab. Congratulations medical, pharma, insurance, etc.... companies!
Just raking it in and profiting off of the suffering of others.
Avoid travelling here for sure.- 5

So, The mandatory insurance to enter the country isn't really insurance at all. It's just a payment to a Thai insurance company to enter the country, with no compensation should you get ill.

Uhhhh ...nope. It's coming from farmers setting gigantic blazes all across the whole country to burn sugar cane and rice fields. Agri-burning. Anyone who still thinks it is coming from vehicles has to be a blinking idiot.

True. Not to mention having to purchase bogus " insurance" to enter the country - many policies of which dont even compensate you if you do get covid.
The whole thing is just a huge money grab ( worldwide). Congratulations med pharma corporations, insurance companies, etc..... get fat off of the suffering, well done.

Ongoing or returt trip ticket necessary?
in Philippines Visa and Immigration
Posted
Hi, has anyone entered the Phillipines without a return trip or ongoing ticket?
I am wondering if this is 100 % necessary for entry to the Phillipines as I want to keep my itinerary flexible. Im American flying from Thailand (if that matters).
