I have now just opened the second file sent. I see that my point on non Thais and the Thai education system is supported. My child has dual citizenship. She does not have to choose one or the other until she is 20. For the time being, she can claim, as a foreigner, exemption from the Thai curriculum and Thai language, as was the case in her International School. However, in case she ever plans to permanently reside here, I do intend to school her in Thai to the Thai standard and at the same link her into an online British curriculum system so that her progress can be monitored and documented, in case she ever opts to renter the Int school system or a University.
As she is 9 and Thai, does she have a Thai Id card, is she registered on her birth certificate in Thailand?
Then you have to follow Thai law, you can't ignore it till the age of 20. Better talk to a lawyer if you don't believe me.

My understanding is that the legal requirement to attend school, conform to the Thai education system, register with the MoE for homeschooling, under the Thai system, studying Thai language and so on, only legally applies to Thai children.
"to assist with the homeschooling of a 9 year old, (Foreigner/Thai)" seems your child is Thai in this country.

The unfortunate fact is foreigners live in a social class system here in thailand, whether they know it or not. And it is the basis of thai culture.
And by default this class system thinks so highly of us that we have no rung on the pecking order ladder. Which means by default foreigners are always wrong. In every situation. And they will quickly resort to violence to teach you your place in the ranking.
BS, that you can't climb the social ladder doesn't mean others don't. There are a lot of foreign people who have a lot of power and are well respected.

Obviously, you can tell them that you are right and explain to them what they did wrong. But maybe they don't want to listen to you.
Then, when you wake up in the hospital the next day, you will hopefully conclude that avoidance is the best option.
Grow a pair.

Foreigners can be left land in a Thai will, after 12 months the land office can sell it and keep 5% of the selling price if it hasn't been sold or transferred to a Thai within the 12 month period.
He hasn't got a clue.

How often did you have to fight?
Was a part time bouncer in Amsterdam red light for 9 months, done 11 years of martial arts and 6 years of front row rugby union.
Had about 100 physical arguments, lost 3, ended up in hospital once with a couple of metal plates in my forehead as somebody hit me with a brick unexpectedly. Was very lucky not to die then.

after divorce or death of spouse, you will have nothing as you officially own nothing
specially if thai family comes around to take possession of land/house
Another not so bright reply from you. I am building a legacy for my kids, so they don't ever have to worry about money. I don't need to own anything, got loads of money and it will go to my kids when I die anyway. My Thai family respects me for many years already as I had 3 arguments with different members before and they don't want to start another one.
Understand that might sound very strange to you.
Nobody takes something from me if I don't want it to happen, I am not someone who runs away from problems, I actually like them.

God help you if you bump into a Thai, sitting on your beach house steps though.
What a load of nonsense. You weren't killed and you avoid the details on what you did after bumping into his car until you got hit.
The guy didn't bump into the girl but kicked and harassed her, his Thai wife threatened to shoot her, and the beach house steps weren't his as they were on public land.
Twisting stories, telling half-truths, anything to blame Thai people.

Very easy to take that moral high ground. many people made their retirement plans when Mr Google was still sucking the tit.
Altavista was a search engine in 1995, so 29 years ago.

Only a certain mentality would think the law is always right, only a couple of weeks ago Sunak said the government has an obligation to right the wrongs of the past.
By the nature of the issue frozen pensioners have little voice in the UK, maybe if a few trans took up the case the government may take a different view.
I never said the law was right, I actually think it is a very wrong thing. But before you decide to move to a different country, you should do some research what things will be different when leaving your home country. Things can change after the move but not knowing a law which was in place for 70 years is your own fault.
