    The South is a lot more than Samui and Hat Yai. The South produces a lot more than coconuts: durian, rubber, fish, shrimp, crab, squid, kratom, ... The majority of Muslim culture is in the deep South, not in the all of the South. Air way better than up North. Outside touristic areas it is cheap to live.
