I concur with Gacca go online to Lazada to get the phone of your choice. I bought a Xiaomi Mi10 Lite through Lazada because it has dual SIM capability for UK & Thailand and is 5G compatible for later when it gets cheaper. Has many other features so I'd recommend you check it out or the latest version.

We do this drive regularly and use Soda Resort, Kamphaeng Phet as our overnight resting spot most times. Well run clean and spacious rooms and nice and quiet so a good sleep and was 450 THB for room per night including breakfast. Mostly Thais staying there and gardens kept immaculate.

Why are westerners so offended over the word farang? Get over it.
trevoromgh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My wife says it's a term of endearment when Thais call us farang but I don't think so. It is a lazy way of pointing out the obvious which is you are a foreigner and I find its use discourteous sometimes. In the UK we wouldn't usually use such generalisations like foreigner or worse alien when referring to someone within earshot preferring instead the more polite 'lady' or 'gentleman' but things are starting to get confusing over here nowadays with the various gender misfits who we are all supposed to be conscious of and not offend. It won't be long until everyone is called 'Ms'. -
You need not only a passbook which has been updated within last 24 hours showing a balance in excess of the amount they require but also a letter from the bank (you have to go to a branch and request it but they are used to doing it and will charge about 100THB) to pass to immigration and of course signed photocopies x 2 of everything.

Thailand and other countries should have realised by now that THEY need to shoulder some of the monetary risk of travelling. If the passenger has valid certification of being fully vaccinated and tested before they fly then if they become infected during the flight or soon after arrival then all medical costs should be paid for by the Thai government. Until they do this no-one in their right mind will travel to Thailand or anywhere else.

If Thailand actually made Test & Go simple for fully vaccinated tourists i.e. one PCR test before you arrive and you're in (i.e. with no hotel and no day 5 test) they could do very well with British tourists especially as Spain and the rest of the EU seem determined to make entering their countries difficult to us right now.

Once stopped at a crossing on a wide road in BKK when an old lady pedestrian wanted to cross the 4 lane street. 3 lanes of traffic stopped for her but the last lane was empty and in the mirror I could see a pickup speeding towards the crossing and it flashed through without even slowing down and missed her by inches. I closed my eyes and waited for the thud which luckily never came.

Update:- Just tested transfer of funds to someone i'd already saved the account details for and that seemed to work fine. Therefore seems to just be an issue setting up 'new' fund recipients. No reply to my email so far so if someone who uses Facebook messenger or is prepared to phone their Helpline number locally I'd be grateful if you'd do so.

Well the new K-Biz website opened for business on 11th December 2021 taking over from the old K-Cyber site. Initially I believed everything had transitioned correctly and I was able to login on my PC using my previous details without issue, carry out mobile phone top-ups, view statements, verify direct debits were still being processed. Today however I tried to set-up a new recipient ready for a funds transfer to them but whenever I tried to add the person by adding their account details and hitting CONFIRM the system just logged me out unceremoniously. I've now tried this four times without success. Would like to chat with them online but they only offer a Facebook messenger or a telephone number. As I refuse to use Facebook and I'm out of the country right now I thought I'd just check amongst the membership for anyone else who uses K-Biz via a PC and ask whether you too are experiencing issues in this area please?
