  1. CHANGING SUBJECT SLIGHTLY,

USB TRUE SAT, is anyone using the magic box, how do you get it, I believe its 6k for the box and 300 baht a month thereafter?

  2. I am posting this on behalf of a colleague who has a business here in Hua Hin.

Can anyone recommend a good Website Design service in Hua Hin.

Please nothing to do with HHAD.

  3. I tried one today at that shakes place at the shopping center, was ok but will go back to that kiss

restaurant again for another one before i leave Hua Hin..i like the thick tasty homemade burgers with good real meat content and burgerking is ok but not the same style:less quality meat and so less tasty.

So your holiday is all about getting a decent burger, how sad, mind you I understand as their is not much to do here.

Sounds more like an advert to me, do you have friends their in this restaurant?

Bintabaht Burgers take some beating, so does the restaurant opp Mai Tai Bar.

  4. Hi

Not sure why it has taken so long for this story to unfold, a couple of month's ???clap2.gif

I know someone close to this guy's brother, this story is not accurate. I heard the correct story just after it had happened, the brother's have fallen out, they don't speak. the guy has a temper and has been upsetting the local's. Its a different culture, I find Thai's quite tolerant, but they are proud, in a situation its their Country.

Its best Thais and Foreigner's live seperately, to live alongside Thai's, constant cooking, music on at different times of the day, motorbike's and dogs aplenty, you would have to have the tolerance level of a cat. We are best in segregated Estate's with our little luxury's.violin.gif

When I go to the town Hua Hin and talk to the Ex Pats who frequent the bars I am amazed to how many are carryout illegal activitie's, Those who have married Thai's to stay in Thailand, those who put assets in their wife's/girlfriends name, why? To avoid paying tax and raising correct paperwork. Short term it may work but when the assets are in the Thai;'s name, who has the power.

    Stupid Foreigner.drunk.gif

Foreigner's forget, "We are guests here".

  5. A number of recent residential and hotel developments add 'Hua Hin' to their names and yet they are located in Cha Am.

Friends of mine booked on-line a well know leading hotel believing it to be located in Hua Hin or at least very near the town only to find on arrival that it was 15 kms away in another Province!

I regard this as a sharp practice intended to cash in on the Hua Hin boom. The current border between Hua Hin (Prachuap Khirikhan) and Cha-Am (Phetchaburi Province when driving Highway 4 (Phetchakasem Road) is midway through the tunnel under the Hua Hin airport runway.

So you are saying that Cha Am province of Phetchaburi owns 50% of the runway?

  6. "over 300,000 addicts underwent drug rehabs" complete and total fantasy. All the Thai rehabs combined could accommodate maybe 1000 people a year. And for those, throwing up and praying is the treatment model. Thai people without money have almost no treatment options and the government has consistently declines foreign help and consulting about their addiction problem.

    Agree completely.

  7. I don't know of any formal scheduled events for Christmas as that is not really a Thai holiday, but the lights at market village and downtown on the street running from the railway to the beach are usually nice. As far a new year, again, I don't know of any scheduled events but I think there is one (usually advertised in Thai language signs only) at that big area near the palace (48 rai) where they maybe have some food, music, and a fireworks show at midnight.

Other than that, many of the big hotels and resorts have fireworks shows on/off the beach at midnight so it might just be nice to go down there to watch. We live up on the hillside overlooking Takiab and in previous years could see 6 or 7 fireworks shows up and down the beach from our balcony.

Too expensive for this guy, he scouring Hua Hin for a cheap Tuk Tuk, by the time he's found one, it will all be over..

Christmas dinner is around 700 to 850, thats probably 500 baht to much for this cheap charlie.

  8. I found one solitary thread about it on the internet.. but i have managed to get the number.. It is the Baan Pak hotel 032511653

angry.gif Why tell us, your the one that wants the info? Who the hell wants to stay at a Hotel on a noisy street full of whores and drug dealers? Mind boggle's

Why not stay with your mates at El Murphy's ? laugh.gif

In the absence of anything to contribute, why not mind your own business?

Sorry, thought you realised the forum WANTS comments.

Still do not see why anyone apart from a sex tourist would stay here? It is know for short time, low standard hotel for low standard prostitutes.

    No car parking.

    No swimming pool.

    No satelite (Basic cable).

No decent bar to meet people.

If the have a restaurant it will be pretty basic.

    No Wi Fi.

Noise till 2am from the seedy bars.

    The mind boggle's.

  9. One more item to add to your list of survival/emergency supplies - CASH.

HSBC was today hit by a nationwide WORLDWIDE systems crash thought to have affected millions of customers. The bank's cash machines, branches, debit cards, and internet banking services all stopped working at 2.45pm after a computer glitch. The outage lasted more than two hours, with frantic HSBC staff finally finding a fix at 4.50pm.

Folks, these kind of disruptions are only going to get more and more common. Please take a few moments while sipping your cold beers to plan for emergencies.

Please let us know when it will get worse, we have waited some months now, or will you admitt to scare mongering at best or lieing at worst.

  10. We've been there a couple of times when 'Elvis' is on, if memory serves it's on a Wednesday, we eat there quite regularly as well, the food is good, prices ok and many chocolate desserts available, the 'Elvis' is good, it's all a bit of a tongue in cheek performance and very OTT but all good fun and makes for a cracking night, we also went when some of the family were over, good times.

    Bigjimmy

You have to have the correct mindset, its a laugh, really, not for the serious Elvis fan.
