  1. god i used to loathe these people when i first rented a serviced room in that vicinity. they would grab you, get in your way, etc. they are terribly unkempt, aggressive, smelly. really the bottom dwellers of society. i would expect that one day they will crawl into the sewer and form some kind of underground matrix army.

but then again, perhaps they fit in with that area quite well. :)

  2. So if an individual business gets unlucky then nobody cares but if a bunch of them get unlucky at the same time it is a sob story and they need government help?

Let me welcome everyone who lost money to the business world. You have risk in business. You assess risk and roll the dice like everyone else. You got unlucky. Take your lumps like a man.

And I know that the vast majority of these "protesting business owners" agree and know what i just wrote is true. They are simply hustling. If they can go on TV and cry about how they are poor now (they probably have twenty other shops) then maybe they will get something out of it.

  3. I hope not. What a waste of tax payers funds. Don't people realize that government assistance is simply stealing money from one group of people to give to another? Why should my wife's taxed baht go to helping your friend when the roads are so bumpy and in need of repair in so many places?

  4. Your point about getting their stories together is silly. They are at the government's will. If the government wants to give them the death penalty, that is not a problem. Or maybe they are playing golf by next Sunday. Evidence is not really something of paramount importance in the Thai legal system. Plus, the government already has all that it needs.

  5. I have heard some of these gossip/rumours. And trust me, its not all about "that the vast majority of Red Shirts are happy with the outcome of the protest."

And if they are really talking about what I have heard, there is a very good reason they are covering their mouths.

Yeah, I have heard much of this myself. Hoping its just gossip :)

  6. Just something I noticed. Staff sort of drifted into the corners and using body language (positioning hands over their mouths/facing in directions opposite the customers) suggestive that they do not want anyone to know what they are saying, although obviously, we know what they are talking about. I don't particularly care as long as five of them run over to me the moment I make eye contact, but still, the mood over the city from my viewpoint is that the vast majority of Red Shirts are happy with the outcome of the protest. What have you observed going out and about in Thailand since our beloved Central World was taken from us without mercy.

  7. It happened. So people knew it was going to happen 4 days before. I think that's pretty serious.

    LoL.

You don't think Abhisit also knew it was going to happen? The moment they reneged on the deal that was set up it became obvious. Abhisit went into action immediately realizing it was better to not allow the reds a chance to recuperate their rank and file and add more supplies. Where do you think all those tires came from? Already stockpiled and waiting. Sae Daeng spilled the beans in the interview before being shot.

I could be wrong but I think this is most logical. If a farang protester knows what is gonna happen, so does the PM.
