Four months in jail for as it seems not having the right stamp in the passport?
And then a three digit number of people hunting them?
Maybe that's just a set up for some kind of Hollywood movie?

As long as many taxi drivers have enough money to lower their cars and make the shockers/dampers more uncomfortable for guests or downgrade their exhaust to make it more loud I would say they earn more than enough money.
So far taking a taxi within Bangkok for us is a no-brainer. Even for short distances.
We probably might think twice if take a taxi or maybe for some distances a bus if rates go up...

Tomorrow I need to do a border run to Cambodia from Bangkok.
Does anyone want to share a taxi? To or from aranjaprathet? Just bring a 20 US dollar bill for the visa. Start in the very early morning to be back very early.

who did this accounting?
"from the beginning of 2014, a total of 44 million passengers have passed". And "by the end of this year, the number of passengers will only reach up to 48-50 million"
but "the average number of passenger arrivals at Suvarnabhumi airport stands at 110,000 per day."
so per month at least 3 million to be added. 5 months left for this year is another 15 million to arrive.
44 + 15 is 59 million. at least in the western world, maybe in thailand there is another accounting valid...

After doing some digging in the dirt I found out that:
1. At least one member of our committee is having his third term. This is illegal as there would have been other joint owners who had been elected and ready to become a member of the committee. The management just didn't care about the NEW THAILAND CONDOMINIUM ACT 2008
2. The board chairman (committee manager) has huge debits in unpaid maintenance fees. Regarding to the condominium act he could not have become Board Chairman. That's illegal as well.
3. Practically all members of the committee don't pay all maintenance fees they should pay, and they protect each other.
4. The management of our building has a title against several joint owners, one title of the sum of 22 Million baht (yes, just one title alone). The title was won 3 years ago. They just refuse to take action. They don't do anything on that. An execution officer was never involved. The debtor is very rich, has several condos in the building, yet no action against him...
In Western countries just point number four would bring the government into the game. The management deals under the table with the debitors...
How is the situation in Thailand?

Hi Harrry,
Your input is appreciated but you should know the following:
The board of directors decided in January in our favor that we can have a second entrance to our apartment.
As soon as we received this message from a Manager we started to get the second entrance done. The buildings manager himself showed up by himself to check the ongoing of the work. We again called the main office of the management company and were told that the don't need to worry and can continue. Every director is informed and it would be just a matter of days to get the letter of approval.
Then more than two months nothing happened, unfortunately we also never received the letter of approval.
So door 368 is just looking like door 1 to 367. Same position, exactly same color, even the vote is the same,, no one can tell a difference.
Now I had to look at the condominium act.
"Section 42/3 On summoning to the General Meeting, written letters indicating the place, date, tie and Meeting agendas and the matters to be presented to the Meeting together with reasonable details shall be made and forwarded to the joint owners at least seven days prior to the Meeting date."
So a meeting where just a fraction of co owners was informed seems not really to be legal... Let alone to be ready to make decisions…
-
In the meanwhile I did some research:
A former buildings manager told us that all building co-owners have to be informed if a director of the board is attending the meeting.
.
This is illegal to have a meeting with the director joining and not all co-owners being informed about the meeting happen, at least according to this former buildings manager...
He added if there is a meeting of co-owners they cannot make valid decisions right away. They can make a decision but such a decision must be confirmed by the committee.
-
In January 2014 we sought permission to build a second entrance to our condominium. After paying some tea money (Which we can prove) to one manager we were told that we can start the second entrance.
On the day we had the entrance done the buildings manager even took some photos and told us we can continue.
End of April we got just a telephone call and later in May a letter asking us to close this entrance again. Which we didn't do.
Today we got the information that just a few days ago there was an extra yearly co-owners meeting where the management got the permission to sue us at court and fine us with 100,000 baht.
Just we were not informed about this meeting. It took place without anyone informing us.
Is a meeting when not everyone got an invitation legal? Are the decisions made during this meeting legal?

All lined up and shiny new water tub tippers!

Thailand gives a damn shit on human rights, always did and at least for a long time it will, they did not sign the UN refugee charta, they work together with countries like North Korea to keep North korean refugees locked in the IDC without access to lawyers or any help. And all parties agreed to that...
So not surprising what happens in the fishing industries...

tDog, you follow the link you can see all the exif data. The exposure for this pic was 25 seconds.
But there has been a lot more lightning. At least one lightning per second. Just many lightnings happened inside the clouds itself.

Jomtien Beach is a lot better than Pattaya beach, especially on the Dongtan section. The vendors do a good job of keeping it clean, above the water line
at least until 1 km south of the ambassador hotel on jomtien beach the water is dirty as well. Visibility is zero...

Fire next to the airport... by juhududa, on Flickr
Just two hours before the curfew - but Thais cant live without setting up some fire somewhere... Nice the trail of a plane landing at BKK.Pay attention to the left hand sided start of the trail. Do you see the zigzag? This was after I hit the button of the camera. This time I did not work with the self timer - I know it but I have never seen before how important that is... -

Hunt for six Turkish illegal immigrants who escaped from Thai immigration detention
in Thailand News
Posted
In the immigration detention center here in Bangkok some are held for several years for this sort of "crime".
Most sorry I feel for the North Koreans who sit in their practicality for life since Thailand work together with with the North Korean government and agreed not to let them have access to any kind of help, not from a lawyer and not from the UN....
