  1. I also want to say that we added the flocculant yesterday around 3 pm. We let the pool pump run for roughly two hours then.

Unfortunately some Thai ignored the warning sign (in thai and english) not to use the pool and used it around 7:30 pm.

I found some spare flocculant from another company saying to add 10 ml per m3 of water, means 1 liter per 100,000 liters. So we might have added the right amount yesterday.

  2. Unfortunately our buildings new committee thought they can take care of the swimming pool by just ordering to monitor the total chlorine value and PH level. The stupid farangs warning that it is only a matter of time until the pool gets green was ignored.

So finally the pool became green and after they tried for more than one week without success to get it back to normal they asked me to help out.

Now, after emptying half the pool because the cyanuric acid level was way too high and refilling it to bring it back to normal ( it's about 30 now) taking care of that the other values are within range the pool was shocked. free chlorine level is exceeding 20 ppm.

The color of the water went from green to a white green color. They ordered a flocculant. It's a fluid one. On the container there aren't any labels. So we called the pool company and they said we have to add 7.5 L per 500,000 L of water.

Since we have a volume of about 160,000 L we added 2.4 L.

But overnight there was nothing much sinking to the bottom of the pool. After checking back some sites in the Internet I think maybe that was not enough of the fluid flocculant added to the pool. A lot more of this stuff would need to be added (from what I read) but of course I do not know the concentration of this chemical.

For goodness sake, give me a break with the alarmist rubbish.  You happen to have your religion (Global warming beliefs) I have my opinion and never the twain shall meet.  So please, do not quote any more clap trap or lecture me on the rubbish you want to proffer.

And please note . I believe in Climate Change, it has been occurring for billions of years and over the past few thousand years and we're still all here despite all the doomsday soothsayers and their unpredictable predictions.  So if you believe, good on you but I don't  and do not want to get into a free for all over it. :sorry::wai:

It all has been occurring for billions of years and over the past few thousand years.

    Right.

Yet people with open eyes see a difference here...

The world's climate scientists, who want to keep the funding coming in...

Taxation and funding is behind this and nobody has the kahunas to talk about the population explosion.

So what you are saying is that scientists find the results the politicians want to hear, right?

Then, after Trump was voted in, cutting funding for science: do the scientists reverse their findings? Not a single one.

Maybe I was just not able to find it: is there any proof for your statement? Anywhere any evidence?  I never have seen sth. substantial from deniers...

There are I believe 12 manmade vehicles (give or take) on Mars and Mars is also "warming".  Are you telling me that 12 electric vehicles (mostly dead) on Mars changed the climate there? Exactly.

So one single scientist (Abdussamatov) believes the sun is the cause. Such a luck for you and even more luck you could find one...

Actually this is what science says to your posted claim (it is just a myth):

  6. It is beyond the imagination of the deniers that something they can not see can have an impact on something like the climate. It is simply a law of physics.

NEVER before in the at least 800.000 years CO2 exploded to levels where it is now (400 ppm). It is not 10 or 20% higher then the average of the last million years it is hundreds % higher. Just facts, my dear deniers...

  7. Uneducated folks always state: Change always happened.

It never happened that way as long as humans exist.

CO2 never before rallied as it is doing now...

Heat up two bottles with air, one with a higher concentration of CO2, one with less. Guess which one heats up faster?

The very stupid one say "Just see all the volcanoes..."? They never checked on the facts. The volcanoes are big, so there must be sth. to it, right? But they never checked facts.

    You find many such samples...

The following pic proves all the one wrong who are stating that it was always this way... It simply was not...

  8. If you use stabilized chlorine the only way to to control excess levels of cynic acid is by dilution with fresh water.

That is why I do not want to add more and more stabilized chlorine.

Again I would ask the question why are you adding chlorine everyday unless the pool is extremely well used.

Our pool needs more chlorine then it should, they add about 1.4 kg per day and a lot more before we cleaned the over flow tank.

So to keep the chlorine level between 1.5 and 5 chlorine needs to be added every day.

Right now I do not have the support to do more on the pool. Certainly some algae remained in the joints after our brushing. There is a reason why we need more chlorine then necessary, but our management does not want to know more about this. They give a damn shit on the pool as long as it appears clean... What they can not see can not be there...

  9. In addition to the chlorine I need to add baking soda and soda ashes regularly, actually every day to keep values in the right range. If I use some chlorine with a higher pH I could reduce to add the extra chemicals, right? Also CA built up in the past, but I want to keep it in the right range as well. So why would I want to add CA enriched chlorine every day if there is enough CA in the pool?

  10. So this is the answer from one of the forum sponsors:

No word about the problem that cyanuric acid is enriched after a while. After all I studied I think the answer is quite one-sided

    Thank you for your enquiry.
The only type of chlorine that should generally be used in domestic pools is T.C.C.A. 95 stabilized chlorine (Trichloroisocyanuric acid) (C3Cl3N3O3).
It is available as powder, granules, or in slow dissolving tablets. http://swimmingpoolsthailand.com/en/34-chlorine
We market the best available quality in Thailand, PoolChlor, at very competitive prices.

If you are using an industrial scale automated chlorination system, you would be using liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) automatically fed from a tank: http://swimmingpoolsthailand.com/en/266-chlorine-liquid-sodium-hypochlorite-hi-chlor

The performance of the chlorine in your pool depends on the correct pH level which should be between 7.2 and 7.6.
These values can be tested and monitored with a simple test kit for THB 299.00: http://swimmingpoolsthailand.com/en/water-testing/33-test-kit.html
To adjust the chemical balance of your waters pHplus or pHminus depending whether the pH is to low or too high. See:
    http://swimmingpoolsthailand.com/en/-ph-minus/75-ph-minus.html
    and
    http://swimmingpoolsthailand.com/en/chemicals-complete-list-en/455-ph-plus.html

Please ignore any other advice you may have been given, however well meant.

  11. We installed some kind of nets on the outlets, the pipes leading from the Overflow canal into the overflow tank.

Anyway we have quite a lot of dirt coming out of the vents after the water went through the filter. There is something wrong, right?

It looks like the diatomaceous earth is finding its way into the pool. That shouldn't be, right?

  12. So after arguing a lot with our JPM but with some help from some smart co-owners I got the green light to at least do a minimum of swimming pool cleaning. We completely emptied the swimming pool, scrubbed the joints and got a lot of sediment out of the overflow tank.

Unfortunately I could not arrange for an acid cleaning let alone re-grouting the joints.

  13. Where ever I look, no matter on which website I only find Trichlor Cyanuric Acid enriched chlorine.

With a pH value of three it lowers the pH value in every swimming pool. In addition cyanuric acid is building up. I don't want the one and I don't want the other thing.

I want Dichlor or any of the other three available kinds of chlorine.

Don't the other Pool owners have these problems?

Or should I buy sodium hypochlorite? It would rise the pH level in the swimming pool. I found 10% 280 L compound for roughly US$320.

And then use it together with Trichlor... Sometimes Trichlor and sometimes sodium hypochlorite.

    Mate,

even in Thailand there is a limit what is acceptable. that goes especially for a communal pool which might be frequented by many people who carry and possibly add a variety of potentially dangerous bacteria, bugs and what not to the water which requires special attention as far as sanitation is concerned.

Ok, I am ready to sue them. Or should I file a complaint at the land department? We want to sue the juristic person anyway as they fail to do their duty actually everywhere in the building.

Any additional information on how I can do that is highly appreciated. Or what is the best approach? I'm serious, one other co-owner already has lawyers on a few other issues concerning this management/juristic person. But actually all this is, as we figured out already, a very slow process.

the manager or condo committee who let dirt and grime in an overflow tank accumulate up to a depth of 30cm should go to prison and the pool builder who installed the suction point that high should build hen houses! using the tank functioning to accumulate dangerous shít instead of filtering it out is beyond my grasp.

I 200% agree but maybe you forgot that we are in Thailand?
