    You are making a lot of sense AT.

    I'll definitely keep your words in mind if I have to go up that high again.

    As for me, I feel dizzy on the third bar of a ladder;
    all these high things are done by my stepson.
    Ladders made in Thailand look beautiful but in fact are dangerous;

    no study is made when at their stability, the base is always too small when the "security" is at its maximum admissible;
    wheelbarrows .. same problem, the front wheel is never offset enough and if you load without paying attention where you put your shovel, you end up with the wheelbarrow almost vertically because the center of gravity has never been studied properly.
    A whole bunch of tools "made in Thailand" which are in fact dangerous to use.
    So you have to buy German or American tools that cost an arm and a half kidney if you want to work properly

    Mr. Lawaron said the verification process will take time. The second round of financial aid and SMS notifications is on April 13 and 14, with some 600,000 people having qualified to receive the assistance.

    About 27 million people have registered for the assistance, For those who have not been verified after registration, they can file an appeal. They can still receive the cash handout for three months because payments will be made based on their registration dates.

    600,000 out of 27 million; it promises us an exit from an explosive crisis.

    When you do a quick calculation, 27 million seems to me a number can be a little excessive; let's say that there must be about half that would be able to touch these 5,000 baht.
    it is all these people who live outside, who never pay taxes or social security contributions which would allow them to receive money in the event of unemployment.
    I hope that the officials responsible for the verifications will not give money to people who are already receiving unemployment from their employers or the government.

    So how does any government department get to accumulate such a vast amount of money, (1.4 trillion baht) when so many Thais struggle to make ends meet. A large portion of this money should be going to help out the poorer Thai families not to line the rich Thais pockets. I love this country but i dispise the corruption.

    You are discovering the line to cut the soft butter.
    Exactly the same thing happens in rich countries.
    view information from the USA or Europe where containment is mandatory; unemployment is exploding;
    but the big difference with Thailand is that these new unemployed people will receive benefits because they have contributed and paid taxes when they worked.
    However in Thailand a very large percentage of workers pay no direct taxes when they work and therefore will receive nothing in the event of unemployment.
    which seems perfectly logical to me.
    You don't contribute to an unemployment or pension fund,
    It is normal that you do not receive unemployment benefits or a retirement when the time comes to stop working.

    We are very surprised to see the Thai government give only 500 to 800 baht per month to retired farmers, but they have never paid any direct tax in their whole existence.

    I find that quite logical.

  4. There was a Catholic radio in this tower at the top of which there is St Michael slaying the dragon

    So it seems you have confirmed Thai folk do eat dogs, that was the OP. What you eat down south is another matter.

    I am from the south of the UK, we do not, as a whole, eat Haggis.....????

    Which seems normal, since you are not Scottish :jap:

    SOME people in Sakon Nakorn province, Issan, eat dog. Everyone in thailand know about that. Is on the news.

    Sakon Nakorn province have many Vietnam blood people, since long time. It come from that.

    MOST people in Sakon Nakorn do NOT eat dog.

    It was a long time ago.
    The dog slaughterhouse which was in Tharee, a small town on route 22 between Sakon Nakhon and Nakon Phanom has been closed for more than ten years.
    (and I know Thai people who have already eat rabbit)
    For the rest it is true, the province is home to a significant number of Thai people from Vietnam.
    most of them continue to speak Vietnamese among themselves, to go to mass on Sundays because many are Catholic;
    and when we enter their house, it is not the photo of the king of Thailand that we see first but that of Onc 'Ho ...

    I would like to see a picture of your gardens that provide your daily requirements. I have seen no evidence that Thai people have gardens. As near as I can tell nearly all vegetables are imported from China.

    I believe you have eggs and meat, but I really doubt you have a lush garden.

    Simply prove me wrong with a posted picture please. In that case I will personally travel to your area to learn the secrets and be happy to pay for the knowledge.

    I never wrote that we have a vegetable patch;
    I wrote that we have no difficulty in obtaining vegetables, fruit meat ...
    However, some of my neighbors have vegetable gardens and others cultivate hydroponics ...

    Really!? You can´t be serious. Most countries will bounce back after less than a year.

    and hundreds of millions of unemployed ..
    In the US alone the list is dangerously growing;
    the same is true in almost all European countries.
    You believe that the economy will restart, like that, with a simple wand of the magic wand after a year or maybe more almost total stop.

    The crisis you are talking about was a bubble; it has nothing to do .

    not the means and especially no desire to return one day to Europe ..
    my life is here and nowhere else.

    As for the glass half full or empty ... I only drink water

    Holiday :- A day of recreation when no work is done, social gathering not compulsory.

    Nothing prohibits spending your holidays at home .

    I don't know in which language it should be written but here on thaivisa, only the English language is allowed:

    STAY HOME - DON'T MOVE

    It reminds me of this advertisement that we saw on the Baioke tower about fifteen years ago:

    DRINK DON'T DRIVE,

    Joke thai people never understood

  12. Holidays or not ?

    is that a joke?
    You have not yet understood the meaning of this sentence:
    STAY AT HOME, DON'T MOVE
    and then on the other hand, I have never seen a country on this earth where there are so many holidays;
    if banks and public administrations are open 180 days a year, it is the end of the world.
