  1. On Monday afternoon a press conference was held in Chonburi and hosted by Police Lieutenant-General Tirayudh, the commander of Region 2.

    He and his officers announced a major illegal drugs bust in which 118,000 ya bah tablets and 351 kilos of heroin had been seized in an undercover operation.

    Two Thai women, one aged 24, the other 25, both from Chiang Mai province, have allegedly been operating as sales agents for the producers of the ya bah and heroin.

    They were caught when undercover officers from Chonburi, acting on information, organized to purchase 2,000 ya bah tablets from the pair in a transaction at Big C in Lard Phrao in Bangkok.

    After obtaining the drugs the officers arrested the two women and were taken back to their room where they uncovered the huge stash, worth an estimated 40 million baht.

  2. On Thursday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya chaired a meeting to discuss plans to offer a Wireless Internet Connection along the entire stretch of Pattaya Beach.

    The TOT Company will be providing the service and as part of the offer, the first 30 minutes of Internet usage is free. The service will be activated between 25th December and 31st December for a trail period and if the service proves popular, TOT will install the service on a permanent basis.

    The internet download speed will be up to 256kb/second and internet cards are available from Pattaya City Hall, the Surf Kitchen Restaurant on Jomtien Beach and the Information Center on Jomtien beach at the Soi Chaiyapreuk Intersection along with TOT shops around Pattaya, however the service is only available on Pattaya Beach and not Jomtien Beach.

  3. We were out and about on Christmas Eve to take in some of the festive atmosphere here in Fun City.

    The market stalls selling festive outfits were doing brisk business and on the streets we spotted many who had dressed for the occasion.

    The Majority of bars were holding Christmas parties and despite lower tourist numbers than last year, there was still plenty of fun to be had around the City.

    We hope that whatever you got up to on Christmas Eve, you enjoyed yourself and wish you, your family and friends a Merry Christmas!

  4. Police and Fire Rescue Units were called to the Tepprasit Road in Jomtien following reports of a motorbike fire.

    Authorities arrived and the fire, which had completely destroyed two parked motorbikes, was extinguished. Nearby was a gas cylinder which was leaking gas and was thought to have caused the blaze.

    Khun Sakon aged 37 works as a local market vendor and he explained that he was preparing some food for his market stall when the pipe on the gas cylinder came off and a fire ensued, which engulfed both parked motorbikes.

    No one was injured in the blaze and the cylinder was made safe by fire fighters.

  5. In the early hours of Christmas Day, Police Captain Patipat was called to the Sukumkvit Road intersection with Soi Chayapreuk in Jomtien to deal with a road accident involving a number of vehicles.

    At the scene, the officer determined that 3 vehicles were involved in the accident, an Ice Truck, a Jeep and a Mazda Pick-up.

    The Ice Truck driver was trapped in his cab and sustained multiple injuries. He was eventually cut from the cab and taken to Hospital where Doctors confirmed he was not seriously injured.

    Drivers and passengers in the two other vehicles were unhurt and explained that the Ice Truck ploughed into them at the intersection.

    The Truck driver claimed that his brakes had failed and he was unable to avoid a rear-end collision with the two other vehicles that were preparing to u-turn at the junction.

    Investigators confirmed that the brakes on the Ice Truck had failed and Police are investigating further before they decide to press charges against the Truck driver or not.

Acting on an arrest warrant, Police from the Children and Woman’s Protection Division, based at Region 2 Police Headquarters in Chonburi, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Gritar, arrested an Italian Man in Soi Sunee Plaza, South Pattaya following a complaint from a 14 year old boy who claimed he was sexually assaulted by the suspect, named as Mr. Massimo Mannari aged 49, a Chef from Italy.

    The suspect was taken back to his home in Soi Neun Pleub Wan where evidence was collected and he was then taken to the Region 2 Police Office in Chonburi District for further questioning.

    It was revealed that the Tourist Police had arrested Mr. Mannari 6 years ago following claims that he was in possession of child pornography

    Since then, he has been travelling to and from Thailand on a regular basis. The current arrest warrant stated that the parents of the 14 year old boy claimed that Mr. Mannari sexually assaulted him in a local Hotel.

    These claims will now be investigated further and for now Mr. Mannari is assisting Police with the enquiry.

  7. Police and Medical Units received an urgent call to attend a stabbing incident at View Talay Condominium 2 in Jomtien on Wednesday Afternoon.

    Authorities made their way to the 14th floor of Building A and attended to a seriously injured woman, Khun Aemon aged 35. She had sustained a single stab wound to her neck. She was able to explain the incident and claimed the suspected attacker was an Australian resident in the complex.

    Following information received from the victim, Police made their way to room number 434/671 occupied by Mr. Kevin Thomas Fitzgerald aged 53. After 30 minutes, he opened his front door and was placed in handcuffs.

    Inside the room was clear evidence of a violent struggle. Blood stains on the sofa and floor were examined and a handbag and clothing belong to the victim were found, confirming she had been inside the room.

    Mr. Fitzgerald remained silent throughout the arrest; however Khun Aemon claimed that she had been taken to the room by the suspect for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Mr. Fitzgerald demanded that the woman perform sexual acts which were unacceptable to the victim. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed the victim in her neck.

    A knife thought to have been used in the attack was recovered. Mr. Fitzgerald was taken to Pattaya Police Station for further questioning while Khun Aemon remains in a serious condition in Hospital.

  8. On Tuesday Afternoon, Police Lieutenant Choosak from Banglamung Police Station was called to house number 158/55 at the Chatgeow Village in Soi Kow Noi to investigate reports of a foreign fatality at the location.

    At the scene, the officer was directed to the 1st floor bedroom to inspect the body of Mr. Cedric Nyffeler aged 36 from Switzerland. He was lying on the floor next to his bed and it appeared that he had been dead for about 1 week according to a forensic doctor at the scene.

    Although the house showed clear signs of a disturbance no visible injuries were evident on the body.

    Neighbors explained that Mr. Nyffeler had rented the house, but would often go out and not return for a couple of days. He was known to have taken many women back to the house on a regular basis.

    Forensic evidence was gathered by Police at the scene and the body has been sent for a post mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death which, for now, remains a mystery.

  9. whats wrong with being noisy in a bar, if there was a live band on would this Warehurst prick have told everyone to shut up? He got what he deserved imo, the cut to his leg was maybe a little excessive though :o

    Theres to many tw@ts in pattaya who think the second they enter a bar they are in charge of the music/pool table/TV, its like being back in the UK :D

    It reminds be of an incident over christmas there, I was in a bar down Jomtien and wanted a game of pool, some prick stands up and decides hes got 500 baht on the table and the next 20 games are his, even though there was a board for names. I barfined the 9 girls working there and went next door to play pool, the prick was left to play with himself. :D

    Does that mean he's a <deleted> :D
