The consensus on the Breakfast Club has been that their are rather crap, especially for the price asked. I only hear good things about that new 500ml Weizen (German style wheat beer) from Singha. It's only 48 Baht. Might be a better choice. Drinking a German Weizen back home right now @ 13 Baht for the same size. Bloody awesome.

Same in Pattaya. Now they make you report your address first (even if just on visa exempt) instead of just issuing the thing with your proof of address. I had to come back the next day to get my certificate (and queue again). Pretty pointless exercise as a hotel business card, a handwritten bill and your phone number is not really proof of anything. Plus, I could just change the hotel the next day ...and the hotel should report my stay in the first place anyway. Waste of resources.

However, I suspect the reality is that it matters little. And IO shaking his or her head or not is “up to them” — they have no authority to really do anything upon departure anyway, especially if there has been no overstay.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. For sure they can flag you the system so you'll be bothered coming in next time.

Add Aussie to that!
Aussie immigration is like the most laid-back immigration in the world. They are really anal about bringing in food though.

Well, as my title says the IO was not very happy and scanned my passport twice, shaking his head and looking at me like <deleted> but did not say a word.
I get this EVERY freaking time I leave. The IO scans my passport, flicking through the pages and shakes his head. Don't worry too much. Maybe they don't like passports full of blue stickers?

Have you done a risk assessment?
How old are you?
Have you ridden for distances in the past?
What is your experience.
Your question cannot be answered with the information you’ve given.
Majority of accidents happen due to people’s incompetence.
What is your skillset, I think very low as outlined in your question.
Put the bike in a postal truck or one of the buses.
Safe travels.
<deleted> he is riding a bike for 300 ks. It's not rocket science. Watch your back, stay as far left as possible and you'll be alright. The main issue will be sitting uncomfortable after a few hours. He won't have an issue with brakes overheating as Waves are manual. I wouldn't choose it as a leisure trip but is is definitely doable.
Post the bike for 300 kms? You serious?- 1

Anything over 100-150 kms a day on a scooter is just a pain in the ass (literally). If you split it up and rest for 1 or 2 nights you'll be okay. Be aware that this road is quite busy. Not sure if you will enjoy it that much. I'd rather take some back roads.

POS should be shot on the spot.

I got a proper portable unit back home which set me back nearly 400 euros. For that price you could get a proper split system if you're allowed to install it. Worth it? Definitely yes. But it's not as quiet as fixed units.

Not too much of a pain. You'll need the usual papers (contract, blue book from seller, power of attorney from seller, residence certificate) and they will transfer it. You'll get new plates as well.

Water in Sattahip will most likely be significantly cleaner than at Koh Sichang [in front of Laem Chabang].
The water on the Koh Sichang beach is crystal clear. The only beach is on the Eastern side, the crap from Laem Chabang doesn't really come there. Lots of large ships passing by though.

The closest really clean beach would be the rather small one in Koh Sichang. If you need more space you might as well go to Haad Tien on Koh Larn or to the military beach in Sattahip (Haad Sai Gaeow).

Op acknowledges he was stupid. Why can we not give him sound advice? All these "Freaking criminal should stay out of Thailand" are actually off-topic. Yes, he might go to jail, nobody denies that. But tell him what his options are instead of starting a witch hunt.

So did you just chuck the motorbike in the jungle or did you leave it somewhere for people to see?

If the owner paid a few ฿฿฿ they could have scanned the immigration database of tourists in the country during this time and match the name, DOB, country and photo of your licence with your entry and your passport number in the immigration database.
Personally, I think you'll be fine. Stolen bikes (or 'bikes not returned') are seen as running costs by many rental shops. They make a fortune on the bikes anyway, making their money back on the purchase price in less than one year. One English guy on Samui told me that he 'already lost 6 bikes in the past few months'. Apparently, this is a pastime mostly favoured by Thais. Bikes usually don't come back so I doubt the shop would go through the hassle of informing the police who do <deleted> all anyway. So don't think too much and just call the shop.

This is the country average so it doesn't really matter which region has the higher rates. The average matters.

They don't. This is not the Philippines.

And by the way. The most expensive local water (Aura) never had any seals. How come it was never faked? The 'safety' aspect is just bullshit. Nobody refills any water bottles.
Anyone tried the new craft beers in 7-Eleven?

I find all Weizens taste so strong like Weizen that I can't really taste a huge difference. Don't know why I should fork out one Euro (38 Baht) for an Erdinger when I might as well drink the store brand for 33 cents (13 Baht). Nothing to do with Cheap Charlie. I just don't really think the product is inferior and I don't need to show off when drinking at home.
In Germany :). 1 euro = 38 THB.
