  1. How us Brits could not make a V8 is beyond me but Daimler got close with their beautiful 2.5 and 4.5 Hemi V8. smile.png

Aston Martin V8 ? original design by a resident Polak but still arguably a British engine.

Must say the Daimler V8 is 1 of the most beautiful sounding engines ever fired up. Designed by Edward Turner who also designed the Ariel Square Four and Triumph Speed Twin motorcycle engines. Never heard the 4.5 but the 2.5 in the Daimler 250 and Dart was a cracker. If only they'd of made a Daimler version of the E Type with a tuned 4.5.

  2. Last time I went to Hua Hin taking my GF, her Mum and Stepfather we were subjected to a police raid at the Hilton Pub. After being searched and talken down to we were kicked out into the night at 1am with nowhere else to go to. The beach at Hua Hin is pretty rubbish too, covered in horse crap and piss. The only reason I'd go back is it makes a convenient place to stop halfway between the drive from Pattaya to the South.

  3. So, about Andy Murry ... will it be the same old catch cry.

When he wins ... he's English, but when he bums out ... he's Scottish?

Who told you that crock of 5h1t, personly I dont know 1 English person who wants the drama queen to win.

I'll say 1 thing for him, after watching his balls keep popping out his shorts yesterday it appears he doesn't have the traditional Scotch short arms and deep pockets.

BANGKOK: -- A Ghana national was arrested in Suvarnabhumi Airport on Monday for allegedly trying to smuggle in a kilogram of "ice" flakes worth around Bt3.5 million on the street. The man had allegedly swallowed 60 small bags containing the drug.

Acting on tip-offs coupled with closer inspection, customs officials stopped Kwabena Dwamena, 35, after he disembarked the Ethiopian Airlines flight from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Officials searched his body and luggage before insisting that he undergo an x-ray, which revealed 60 small bags of the drug in his stomach.

Kwabena has been charged with trying to smuggle in illegal drugs with the intent to sell and is currently in custody of the police Narcotics Suppression Bureau.

  5. Good to hear. As expected, it's northern European warships and special troops who are taking the initiative and doing the tough work. With the exception of one Indian engagement, I don't recall hearing of any Asian military being engaged in such tough jobs. Certainly not Chinese navy.

The Thai navy has been sending ships to be part of the anti piracy task force for 2 years now and have engaged pirates and rescued attacked ships. In fact the Thai navy are the current commanders of the international anti piracy task force and pursing a captured oil tanker as we speak, although the link is in Bankok Post so I can't post it. Other Asian commanders of the task force have been from Singapore and South Korea. The Chinese have sent vessels to the region as well but they operate on their own. China has actually advocated attacking the pirate bases in Somalia which no one in the west seems to want to do.

Do the Thai Navy ask for tea money from the somali pirates then send them on their way ?
