  1. CRITICAL UPDATE:

Hey guys... i really need your help now. I would be most thankful if fast :-)

As i already stated above in my op im about to be employed in BKk. Now was the problem that the whole process took time and until yesterday i didnt know if i get the job or not.

now i got it but the requirement is that i start already next week...

So since i couldnt prepare because i didnt know if yes or no, of course i dont have a visa ready. Today is saturday and i guess all closed anyway. Now the company is scared that when i arrive on a visa on arrival, there are problems to get a Non O or business visa there (or any neighbor country) to apply for work permit.

Please, this is so very critical for me, what can i do now? Is there any way for me to get the required visa + work permit if i came to BKK on "visa on arrival"?

Also woulld it be possible to go there on visa on arrival without return flight when i have proof (official contract offer) that im about to be amplyed there (i know theres aother topic about this, but i have another case than the ones there)

    My heart...

  2. Edit:

Sorry just saw that you looking especially fot that area. Yeah its quite far what i mentioned, so sorry .-)

Dont even have to read the following then...

If you want BTS access and all that, i think a good area (and not expensive) is On Nhut. Theres BTS, theres the Lotus supermarket, Carrefour also, nearly no tourists but if you like them you have it only 10 minute with BTS to Sukumvit.

So its really nice area imo. Like Soi 81 or the paralell road to the Sukhumvit Soi cornering there. There are many motorbike taxis everywhere too so its very very covenient.

Theres also a big food-market in the area, maybe more if you count the Carrefour Area street-markets too.

In On Nhut theres an Apartment blocl called Bookyapitak, romms are between 3000 and 6500 with TV. And they have elevators. Doesnt look well from outside but the rooms are really nice and clean. They have public washing mashines but also a small balcony for a own one.

Another thing would be the mentioned Nana Plaza but its services apartment. But really nice if you already watched the homepage i put the link here

  3. It has to be your player. No matter what the download speed is, even it is stopped in between, has no impact on the speed after the download whatsoever.

Try another player (VLC Media Player for example) and see if it still exists.

  4. First, as said many times, every relationship is different. I think to uderstand each other behaviours it would be important for BOTH to live in the country of the other for some time but i know this cannot be achieved many times.

But i know cases where the relationship broke when bringing the Thai partner to germany, for example. This depends greatly on the situation the wife will be thrown in. Do you think she will be happy if, for example, you will work 10 hours/day and shes alone in the house, without her Thai freinds to chatter and have sanuk?

Also, do you think you can keep up with your friends lives? For example, if yourself would be an 70 year old fatty and shes the beautiful 24 year old, and you bring her to your country and show your younger, goodlooking, well earning friends and still be able to keep per on your side? Or even your own younger son?

Please, i dont know you and certainly dont have you in my mind when writing this, but that are my experiences and just examples to think about.

Where do you live, in a small village where she would run into trouble with the neighbors? (many ppl sadly have an opinion already about Thai wifes, difficult to watch away from it when she repeadetly gets annoyed by them).

Do you have the money to pay for her family, even shes not in Thailand? Do you really understand her beeing Thai? Its a little bit different then one might first think.

I for myself, even if im young (middle 30s) and able to keep up with some, i wouldnt want to put her to germany. At the moment i try all to get a job there, i think the relationship have more luck in Thailand compared to germany. Even myself, who is born here, have trouble to find the same way of happinessin germany compared to the one in Thailand. So how can i think that she will be ok? Im not so selfish, sorry.

I think a relationship that could go well in Thailand without a lot of money, would need a lot more to keep her happy in europe (or any western country). She will miss so many thinkgs after a while, if she dont find friends soon or has to do something because there are kids, she will get bored fast imo.

  5. Well, i dont comment on the other posts here...i think your old enough to decide what you want anyway.

So even it is too late now, for next time i would suggest the Gullivers in Suk Soi 5. Is not really a Pub, theres also a hotel next to it but its pretty big and have live football all the time. Not many drunken ppl are there, at least not the 200 times when i was there when my wife was working there.

There are also some families and its out and indoor. Not bad place imo. No smoking inside so your kid is safe at least from that.

  6. If you can do 6 month lease you can get a furnished studio or 1 bdr in one of the newer condos with hotel style facilities no problem. If you can't get tied down that long, it is getting more and more common to ask condo owners for 3 month lease too, they will be reluctant but can be persuaded to do it.

We just found a condo owner at the Ideo Verve right above On Nut market & Bts who (reluctantly) agreed to a 2 month lease and that place (IMHO) beats any serviced apartments in the area for location, facilities and general awesomeness. It did take some persuading though smile.png

So its active already? I lived in Soi 81 before and it was just a flat area then but i saw the sign of the company builing it. I bet its pretty modern, since the small builing in front of it (the office or what it is, dunno) was very stylish too. Wanna senn that.

  7. So you mean it will be ok to get a visa based on marriage, even i dont fill the requirements atm? So i have to bring a proof from the company, with salary stated and all that?

And i could do it from my homecountry? Because i have copy of marriage documents and all that, but they are 2 years old. Do you think i can bring these or i have to translate and all that again?

And another solution would be to make sure of the job first, and then ask for a non-o visa based on work?

So if i get the answer to get the job or not when im still in germany, the last option would be ok too? Ask for a visa based on work if its sure?

Sorry, i just wnt to make sure i understand it correctly.

  8. Hello,

    My situation is as follows:

    - Im not in Thailand at the moment, so i dont have a visa for Thailand anymore.

    - Im married with a Thai so i have option to get visa based on marriage, normally

    - Im about to get a job in BKK (about to be interviewed, ready to talk about contracts ect)

    - At the moment i dont have money on any Thai bank ready for marry visa, since i dont have a bank account nor any income of 40.000 baht per month of course.

    - I dont want to spend for a return ticket because i dont return, as i start a job there.

    - Company will pay for work-permit

What can i do to get out of this situaion as cheap as possible? And also as fast as possible, since the company dont want to wait long time.

    Thanks alot.

  9. "A WP is not a visa you need a visa or a leaving ticket. If you need to do a marriage extension of stay get a non-o before leaving."

I know that a work permit is not a visa.

Maybe i should be make it more clear, sorry.
