  1. Exactly!
  2. Thank you. I use LINE, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, but I want to find one that others in my life do not know I use.
  3. Thank you. I use LINE, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, but I want to find one that others in my life do not know I use. I will check out Threema.
  4. Thank you! I will research them more. Do you have experience using either of them here in Thailand?
  5. Good afternoon all. Can some of you recommend some alternatives for messaging apps in Thailand, other than LINE, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok? I really like the looks of VIBER but I am finding it impossible to register (not getting confirmation code phone call from them...and so far no useful help from there support team). Anyone here use VIBER successfully.....and have advice about this problem? I think I need a different app. Any help will be most appreciated. Bob
  6. Thank you all for you generous advice. I am clear on everything. Have a great weekend! Thank you all for you generous advice. I am clear on everything. Have a great weekend!
  7. Thank you. Do funds have to be tied up more months with a Retirement Extension?
  8. Thank you. So I understand correctly. I would start to transfer 65,000B per month into my Thai bank account (it has to be from overseas, right?) and after 12 months I can apply for a Retirement Extension. Of course since I have 8 months left to my Marriage Extension I would have to make sure I had the 400,000B in my bank account before that extension expires. It's frustrating if the monthly must come from overseas since I have plenty of funds here, but for me it maybe cutting it close trying to transfer 65,000B some of those 12 months. Additionally wouldn't those monthly transfers into Thailand have the potential for being taxed as income by the Thai government?
  9. Thank you. Yes, I have just figured it would be best to leave it in their all year, but now, thinking about my tentative plan to change the extension type I can consider the options.
  10. Thank you. Is that to say I must start making those transfers now and continue for a year AND keep my 4000,000B in the bank for my current Marriage Extension? Wow, that's a lot. Also, I thought I read somewhere that there is a lower monthly transfer amount for expats married to a Thai. Do you know anything about that?
  11. Greetings all. Can someone help with information on the steps of converting from a Marriage Extension (400,000B in the bank method) to a Retirement Extension (monthly income method). I have been trying to research this but have not had success. Any help will be much appreciated.
  12. Good morning all. Are there any Americans here who use Bitkub? Bitkub told me only that Americans who are registered with the US Security and Exchange Commission can use Bitkub.

    Bitkub

Thank you, actually at this point my main question is can Americans use Bitkub. Since I posted, I got an email from them saying they deactivated my account and that only Americans registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission can use Bitkub. When I search online it looks to me like only companies or brokers can register with the US SEC. Do you know any Americans who use Bitkub?
  14. UPDATE: I just received an email from Bitkub Support. They said they deactivated my account because I’m an American citizen and I have not first registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. To any Americans here who use Bitkub, did you have to first register with the US Securities and Exchange Commission? Good afternoon all. I am an American citizen living in Thailand permanently. I signed up with Bitkub and I am in the process of the level one verification. The process for uploading my W-9 with my iPhone on the appropriate verification step is not working. I talked to a support agent and they are trying to help me figure it out, but I have a bigger concern. That agent told me that US citizens cannot use Bitkub unless they registered first with the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). I really think that is wrong. Does anyone here know about that? Also, I would like to know if it is simple and easy to sell your bitcoins when you decide to. Lastly, any tips for a new user and someone new to cryptocurrency would be much appreciated. I only plan to buy bitcoin. Thank you in advance for any help.
  15. Hello. May I ask, was it easy for you to sign up with Bitkub? I’m having difficulties doing it. Today I spoke with one of their agents and he said I cannot use Bitkub unless I am registered first with the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission. I really think that is wrong. Do you know anything about that or does anyone else? Thank you in advance for your help.
  16. It says Google Voice not supported in Thailand
  17. Are you kidding???? It has done incalculable damage to the youth. Tragically it has increased suicides, depression and anxiety numbers quite considerably. Very sad.
  18. Yes, there have been problems with this system for a few months. Many many people being rejected for no reason. So my last one took almost a full day including the travel, as opposed to the normal eight minutes it takes me to do online. Messed up.
  19. I too have had success having accounts in Bangkok and another one in Mukdahan with Krungsri. I've been quite happy with the bank too. About 4 years. Of course it's prudent to have at least 2 accounts. One with a small balance for ATM and purchases use and another with your main holdings (for visa extensions, etc)...that one I never use for purchases or ATM withdrawals.
  20. Thank you very much Red. That was very helpful. Yes both accounts are in my name only and I had probably well over 500,000 baht with both accounts combined at that moment. I will have the bank print statements for both accounts. Have a great night.
  21. Good evening all. I would like some thoughts on something, I have had over the required 400,000 baht in my bank account for over two months (before marriage extension renewal) but, one week ago when it was late at night and I was tired, I was moving money from one account to the other. I accidentally moved too much money out of 400,000 baht, bringing a little bit lower than the required 400,000 baht. I was stunned when I realised what I had done and I immediately put the money back in, bringing it back over 400,000 baht. So it can be seen on my statement that the account went below the required amount for less than one minute. I assume/hope that will not be a big issue. Your thoughts/experience? Thanks!
