I take it when you say "property" you mean an old suitcase full of clothes..! seems things just did not go your way in Thailand... 26vinny.. another sad case..! wai.gif

  2. I have 4 kids in Thai schools (P3, P5, M4, M5). Some in public, some in private schools. I have a extended knowledge of the local system. Today, I'll just answer the question and it's "NO". The reason, beside the weakness of the teachers, is that, since a few months, they don't learn anything at school, anymore => they spend all the time is propaganda activities related to Thainess (IMO this is "how to become dumb in 90 lessons"). How could a Vietnamese come here to learn to be a Thai dumb?

Did you never think about condoms..??? gigglem.gif

  3. ,or some people are topped by others like a fellow countryman of mine found hanged in his garden in Pattaya hands tied togheter with tie wraps and a plastic bag over his head and the will and suicide note stuck to his body with duck tape, and his Thai wife of many years was apparently up country visiting family when al this happened.

And that fantastic local police farce concluded it was suicide......

Is that 100% accurate? What nationality was the dead bloke? I would have thought that one email to the embassy for most countries would mean one email from the ambassador and all of a sudden a cop can't do enough and someone's been arrested. If you're a Brit, for example, the idea that the Thai state will suit a random Thai - who they'd be minded to hammer just on general principles - rather than curry favour with the UK is pretty fanciful.

I hate to be the one to inform you of this Craig, but the British Embassy will take nothing at all to do with a matter such as this... NOTHING...! unless the man had hung himself inside the Embassy grounds,,, wai2.gif

  4. Pattaya isnt Thailand to me, I have never lived in Pattaya although visited the place a few times, I don't like it all... I wouldn't really call it 'proper Thailand'

Seems to me your friends need to experience Thailand for real and not just some scummy seedy area sat on a bar stool supping beer with bar girls, that's not a dig by the way. How about trying somewhere else out in Thailand away from the tourist zones?

I have lived in Thailand for 3 years and since moving up NE Thailand I am much more happy and relaxed with my wife and son, I don't think I could stay in Pattaya etc for more than a week, I also hate the seedy places in BKK. Up here I have met so many proper friends Thai and non Thai who are genuine.

    Cheers

But , come on Ryan..... anywhere is better than 'ull... !

  5. Can overthrow the elected government in an illegal military coup but can't hold a referendum on the new constitution?

    Funny boy.

Why on earth do you think it was an illegal military coup ? and do you know the difference between a legal military coup and an illegal one ? This coup had the backing of the Big man...... So , nothing was illegal... jamesjohnson, go look in your mirror and tell that fool looking back at you better to keep your mouth shut and let people Think you are stupid, than to open it and prove them right..! thumbsup.gif

  6. Having looked at that park on Google Earth it could well be that 445 is a conservative number when it comes to encroachment by resorts, plantations and flash houses.

Strange that this has never been mentioned before, possibly many of the encroachers are those who were immune from investigation in the past.

Yes Robbie, there are literally thousands upon thousands of illegally build resorts and homes in Thailand especially around National Parks... But the corruption runs so deep..! But this is Thailand and belongs to the Hi Sos .. Nothing really will ever happen... The authorities should grant Immunity from prosecution to all present and ex land office clerks, and perhaps offer a small reward for information on false title deeds... watch the bottles fall........... w00t.gif

  7. Clearly a topic to bring out the minority on TVF, JOC 4 posts, and counting. instead of 1 --Pilot ed, newbie straight at the PMs throat.

How do we know who interpreted the headline ?? this work doe's look like a bad case of sour grapes---BUT The spokesperson is, if the translation is correct a bit hasty.

If I was investigating I would naturally assume it MAY WELL be anti army government control, it has to be high on the list.

Has anyone of the minority TVF posters mentioned who they think is behind the bombings ?? if not why ?? instead of bashing the Authorities.

Had this happened to the PTP government it would be the Yellows who did it ?? So we say a definite disruptive act to unstable the present situation. anti army---southern escalation of violence--outside element interference--Big business rivalry-----choose.

    Okay...I'll bite!

A timed car-bomb, with a stolen car from Yala, goes of at night in an empty park-house.

    a) insurgents from the deep South: not likely, because after hundreds they already killed there, I find it unlikely, that they time a bomb to go off at night, in an empty parking lot, with little to no chance of hurting anybody. Terrorists aim to strike fear, kill and maim. So: no insurgents!

cool.png Red shirts: with a car from Yala (not really the stronghold of the reds), on Samui (not really the stronghold of the reds), announced by a guy on a recently re-opened FB-page named M Redshirt? Not even the reds are that kind of stupid...so: no red shirts.

    C) laid of workers: yep...go, get a car, bomb an empty parking-space...as so many laid off workers do today! Not a chance in hell!

So I conclude: mafia-related; someone sent a warning, THIS TIME without anyone killed!

OR...false-flag operation, to blame political rivals!

    You pick!

Yes, if you know anyone with a bit of pull in Samui, there is a mafia turf war going on there right now... Since a certain businessman was murdered a few weeks ago and his Turkish "minder"/ bullyboy" shot dead the following night. All the usual suspects are now in-fighting about who will inherit his (the dead mans) turf.. It's Big moneys we are talking about and of course about loss of face..! No need to look further.. case over..! coffee1.gif

  8. talking is fine but its the actions we need before we can say well done. Lets see these corrupt owners have all their assets seized, compensation in the millions taken from it and then thrown in jail, until then it is simply spin

You are just forgetting, that without the original holders of this land illegally selling the land, no crime would ever have been committed.

The present owners actually paid money (peanuts) for the land, they didn't steal it!!

So the guys who should be headed for jail here, are those who sold the Kings land.

And now they are going to repeat it all over again, giving land to landless farmers(!!) and in 10 years time it will all belong to big landlords again. Only this time they will be wearing yellow shirts!!

For sure it is no coincidence that the crackdowns are only taking place in the North and North East, while Mr Suthep & Co are left alone!!

JOC...... are you really stupid or just a wind-up.... The title deeds were sold onto these rich persons by corrupt officials at the Land Office.. The land was never in the possession of the poor peoples... Get off your high horse and get over the fact that Thaksin, your hero has gone and will NOT be coming home alive..! whistling.gif

  9. "The new charter must be accepted by the international community"

If they don't accept it and tow the Junta's line, what are you going to do. Prayuth can't treat the International community like he treats the suppressed Thais. The international community are still allowed to think, analyse and form thier own opinions. The compulsory brainwashing and propoganda doesn't work and never will on the free.

Seems to work pretty well in Australia Chooka.... And there is Nothing free in Thailand..! sad.png And as long as The International community are making money in Thailand, Prayth can do whatever he wants.. Its all about the money..! When you forget this, it's time to get back to Victoria..! whistling.gif

  10. The problem as I see it was that the quality of the tablets was a big issue... ok if the kids are getting Samsung or something of that quality But complete waste of moneys if the tablets break after 2-3 months.. Also many many teachers in this country cannot use computers themselves.. so, how can they show and teach the children to use them.. Yes in a perfect world free tablets would be Great.. But this is Thailand and ignorance and corruption are rife .. It was just another vote grabbing idea by Yinluck and her band of thieves... w00t.gif

  11. This problem is very common in the middle east.

Being from Texas and all, this might come as a surprise to you:

Neither Thailand nor Ethiopia are in the Middle East!!

Look as I may JOC, I cannot see or read WHERE Mike from Texas claims Thailand or Ethiopia are in the Middle East..? He only and rightly stated that slavery of maids is very common in the Middle East , which it is..! Ignorance is bliss...whistling.gif

  12. Heart breaking story.

There is still love in this cruel world of ours.

May she Rests in Peace and the man keeps being healthy till he meets her again and be with her forever.

    Are you for real??

A guy sleeping with a decomposed body for 10 months, and you call it love??

Note to self: Never go to Greece looking for love!!

So .... come to Thailand... now there's a joke... Advice to all men looking for love... Buy a dog..! whistling.gif

  13. A quick look then " not him or him or her and definitely not him, the rest are yours so get on with it. "

The headlines will read that the PM has ordered action against corrupt officials but without any report on how many have ' escaped ' and why except maybe ' insufficient evidence ' despite the Justice Minister saying there is.

For Gods sake , give this man a chance.... All journeys begin with the first step... wai.gif
