  1. Interesting legal issue ladyboys have to do military service because they are boys but they cannot go topless because they look like women however in their id's it says Mr. so in a true legal manner they should be allowed to go around topless like any other man can. Just saying if they cant go topless. Then technically they could start arresting western men for walking without tshirts, if this would hold up in court!

  2. Absolutely delectable, a plate of durian and a glass of freshly squeezed limes with salt, sugar and ice added is simply heavenly in this heat.

And of course later there is an ice cold beer or two to follow.

Actually I've tried growing 5 durian trees but they all succumbed in April, seems they just couldn't handle the heat in Udon in spite of growing under shade.

Should be able to grow it there if you have rich enough soil and plenty of water the durian tree doesnt handle dry spells very well there's a reason why it grows naturally on the monsoon regions. If you have mist sprinklers in the trees and underground watersupply for the soil you should be fine and if the soils not rich enough make sure to add stuff like rock dust, bone meal, worm castings if you wanna grow it organically. We planted a few trees on our old property in chiang mai and it worked fine and thats what we did.
  3. Love it but before i tried it i hated the smell and same as someone else didnt let rhe wife take it into the house now im the one who buys it the most but usually make sure to have mangosteen also...hot and cold yin and yang kind of thing. For those who havent tried it...id say it comparable to gorgozola...it stinks but tastes good.

If your a heavy drinker dont have durian with alcohol...one of my friends did he's 36 yearsold and he almost had a heartattack his heart was racing at around 200 beats per minute.

  4. Thai labor laws for foreigners are fracked up plain and simple even though my wp states ประเทศไทย and I have my own business. My lawyer got me a very wide range description that more or less says anything my business requires.

But in the reception in the office we have an espresso machine I cant make a cappuccino on it and serve it to a customer as that job description is reserved for thais only but im alloved to make a coffee for myself thank buddha for that!

Other Asean countries dont seem to have these regulations so I wonder what thailand will do about that when asean takes effect.

  5. I can add a few other things i have worked as a Personal Trainer and am a former athlete. Im 5'10 and weigh 93kilos ~ 200lbs and have about 12% bodyfat at the moment. I normally dont spend more than 35-40 minutes in the gym 3 days per week. I swim 2 times per week and do morning walks before breakfast when i wanna loose a kilo or two in fact when i dont do the morning walks i almost feel bad its a perfect time for me to clear my head, its almost meditative after a while it becomes a habit.

I get better result than some that are at the gym 2-3 hours per day 6-7 days per week. Its about working out smarter not harder integrate the healthy habits into your lifestyle and you wont yoyo back either.

Also you should never let yourself go its much easier to maintain than to loose the weight.

If you wanna workout at home i suggest suspension training like TRX. and maybe check out Athlean-x channel on youtube he give good exercise advice with and show how to perform certain things properly

  6. Hey all

In the last 6 years iv put on around about 60lbs-70lbs which takes me v close to the 300lbs mark which is not as bad as it sounds as im about 6ft 3 1/2-4 I would like to lose around 60lbs and looking for some dieting advice on foods to eat in Thailand.

The weird thing is that when i first came to thailand and lived in samui out on the lash every night didnt put any weight on then moved to bkk and got a job and now im 60 lbs heavier, could be the fact i gave up smoking around then or just eating and no exercise not exaclty sure but now im starting to feel the affects of it, so need to lose it.

I guess the no1 thing is im lacking motivation, iv been eating chicken, veg, small rice for dinner and going out on my bike for 30 mins for a month but dont seem to lose anything so thought maybe some TV memebrs who have sucesfully lost a good amount could tell me what foods worked for them and at what times.

Im also not sure if out on my bike 30 mins every day at about 5 and then coming home eating chicken, vegs bit is right, or should i be looking at a morning ride.

Any advice on foods, eating times, exercise intensity would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Ok there are of course a combinatipn of things why you gained weight and boils down too a few things you eat more calories than you burn in one day, diet habits not eating on a regular schedule affects it also, lack of exercise. If your not sleeping enough also affects it.

I would suggest you do the following

Get up earlier everyday take a one hour fast walk before breakfast. Then eat a solid breakfast (oat meal, eggs, vegetable juice), eat a medium sized lunch and eat a light dinner. Dont eat any carbs ie bread, rice sugars etc after 6pm. Dont have coffee with a meal but have it between meals to boost energy levels and metabolism.

Alcohol is packed with calories. Specially beer and slows down metabolism.

You might have to cut your portion sizes if your a big eater.

With this alone you will have a healthy weight loss if your consistant with the morning walks every day and DONT skip breakfast it is the most important meal of the day without doubt.

In fact dont skip meals as some suggests the body needs energy on regularly basis to have a healthy metabolism the body and the brain needs fats to work properly.

I put a friend who needed to loose about 50kilos on this routine and he did it for 2 months and lost nearly 15kilos then he started following me to the gym about 2 times per week. its now about 6months since he started and he is down about 31kilos as of monday this week but has gained muscle so my guess would be that he has lost a little more fat.

  7. Well it depends on what your preferences are if ypu lookng fpr a younger girl she will be after your money if its an older lady that can still be the case unless she is already well of. But from my experience havong spent almost 2years in CM in total is that Chiang Mai ladies might be sweet talking but not honest.

all in all best advice is if you get to know some locals Thai people and then happend to meet someone throught them will give you a better chance at meeting someone good. But that will probably take more time than a quick fix if thats what your after. Also stay away from barladies and and heavy drinkers as many chiang mai women are.

  8. ptt is a target for suthep's mob in bkk, so possibility, that's why they were chosen as the first to attack. Extremely dangerous, as an explosion of fuel and gas could have killed tens/hundreds of staff, customers and locals

Really what did the reds say they would do if the courts ruled against them...bomb banks gasstations etc. Boonrawd is Singha owned business they sponsored the anti government protesters...and then Andaman seafood restaurant my guess its owned by southern people living in CM...ochams razor stipulates the simplest explanation is probably the correct one...CM is Redshirt stronghold they have wast amount of weapons there...anit red businesses and a gasstation get bombed who did it? UDD...United front for Dictatorship against Democracy.

  9. food poisoning from streetfood in 8 years have not happend to me once but two times at nice resturants Wildfire in Phulket was knocked out for 4days and then sushi from fuji at MBK.

And i eat street food several times per week but have my places and always order without additives like MSG and crap.

  10. The Thai vendors of fake watches do not pretend that they are real, also they don't charge that much.

There is a proper looking Rolex box in the photo, I have not seen boxes like that for sale by Thai fake watch sellers.

It sounds like this is a outright fraud. That makes the seller an alleged criminal and is worthy of investigation.

Not true go to bkk you can buy rolex copies or handbag copies of top mirror grades that look almst identical to the smallest detail and comes with boxes and recipts and everything to maketit look real. some thai vendors even try sell them as genuine if they can...only difference this time is that the scam was reversed

  11. "Ms. Arphon Sarakham is a well respected pillar of the community. She has chaired numerous charitable organizations and improved the lives of every single constituent in her province. She is considered a saint with well documented spiritual powers, a healer of the sick, a feeder of the poor and a liberator of the oppressed. She is capable of single handedly balancing many roses at the same time. She will make a fine senator and is exactly what Udon Thani needs.

I find it odd that there are on this forum so many middle aged, beer bellied posters who just denigrate a strong and secure Thai woman from the anonymity of their keyboards."

Please, you all, just forget what I wrote above...I woke up still in a nightmare of having become the geriatrickid...

I think some hate all Thai people who aren't linked to Suthep and Co. I don't think this lady has done anything wrong to attract such vile hatred been shown towards her.

Im pretty sure this is the woman who was arrested with stolen jewlery from central world in 2010? not 100% but that can easily be verified...gonna check!

  12. 4 out of 6 is 66,6667% not 80%.

And maybe he only asked how many of his redshirt friends well i wouldnt be surprised on the outcome but i doubt they have asked any of the others if they support them. This just shows you how desperate they are....abd unimaginative.

PDRL...sounds and looks awfully similar to PDRC i think lot of people could have been confused when asked in the survey if they support PDRL thought they where talking about PDRC...555

who knows...its hot in Bangkok right now

  13. Detained! You mean kidnapped.

Opposite day is it? Or drama queen time? She was in no way kidnapped, held ransom, violated. You're simply exaggerating and twisting the truth.

So how would you define being taken against your will and held by a mob with no authority to do so? Wake up lad, even Suthep recognized the egregious error of this.

ok there are clips on youtube that shows what actually hapend and a backstory to this.

    Points of interest:

    1) Miss Sunisa called a reporter saying she would be there that day. the reporter called PDRC

    2) Miss Sunisa had 4(?) guards with her that ran away when the crowd saw her and was blowing whistles at her the crowd was angry with her being there. (not weird considering current events, and BTW this is a crowd not a mob they arent violent)

    3) at first the guards wanted to escort her to her car but she refused. (saying she didnt dare to go with her as she is a woman and they are men and wanted to call her own escort....the guards who left her and ran away?)

    4) PDRC leaders was upset and ordered her release not being fully briefed or what happend!

    5) eventually they had to mask her and escort her back to her car. (her escort back was constituted by men and women for her personal safety and comfort doesnt feel like kidnapping to me).

    Argument:

it could be claimed that she was arrested but it can also be claimed they where protecting her...the truth is probably a little of both but her safety was undoubtedly a serious issue.

    Outcome:

She walked away without being hurt or injured in anyway. (what would happend with suthep if the government had managed to arrest him)

    Link

if you wanna see what happend its avaliable on youtube I will try to find the link again and post it here.

  14. Back in 2012....

Thai Airways International Pcl (THAI) Chief Executive Officer Piyasvasti Amranand thought his annual review went well. That didn’t stop the board from firing him.

“I just want the board to explain the reason,” Piyasvasti said at a media briefing yesterday. “It’s ambiguous. The performance of the company during my term has improved in every aspect and I passed the evaluation at 86 percent.”

--The big question remains: Why did the old CEO (who had done a good job) have to be replaced by one that made huge losses.....

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-05-21/fired-thai-air-ceo-blames-politics-over-business-southeast-asia.html

BANGKOK—Thai Airways International PCL said Monday that it dismissed President Piyasvasti Amranand in what analysts said was a politically motivated move that could further damp the outlook for a flag carrier already being hit by high fuel prices and weak demand.

The company didn't provide information on who might succeed Mr. Piyasvasti. Executive Vice President Chokchai Panyayong has been named acting president until a selection committee finds Mr. Piyasvasti's successor, Chairman Ampon Kittiampon said.

--I guess the analysts were right.....

--So who was that genius that made Thai Airways loose 12,000,000,000 THB

A member of the government of former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, who is living in self-imposed exile in Dubai, Sorajak was the only candidate for the job and is expected to start in November. He has no previous experience in the airline industry.

Thai Airways (THAI) president Sorajak Kasemsuvan has resigned from the post (in Dec 2013) citing health problems

Health problems ??? He finally realised that it's much easier being a minister.......

Where is he now I wonder?

Sorajak is probably collecting money with a fat parachute deal eventhough they did a lot to dismantle thaiair in everyway they could...these moves that they made when firing Piyasvasti was 100% political and a corrupyed financial moves so that airasia to take over the hauling of thai government worker contracts etc.

  15. Most of these so called farmers are paid protesters.

Our neigbour has just returned from the farmers protest to Kanchanaburi, she was being paid 300bht per day.

Funny thing is, no rice is grown in our area of Kancha (well very little anyway) and she is actually a red supporter clap2.gif

The red gaurd is right, the majority are not disgruntled farmers, they are paid protesters paid to cause trouble.

Your neighbour is the majority, or did she bring her dog? The 15,000 "fake farmers" who were on their way to Bangkok on 1,000 tractors last week were probably her relatives then?

This is how it works...apparantly they are orginised into groups with one group leader, each group is up to 20 protesters, the leader ensures they are fed, sheltered and paid. They try to form each group from a certain area so they know each other. They are given paraphernalia to wave about and told were to go and what to do. In her group she claims 17 were paid and 8 are her relatives. So you can safely say about 80% are paid protesters.

you actually believe that yourself? can you present one piece of credible evidence? just one...if not your just trolling! there so much evidence against the reds but none against the Anti-Government protesters. I know plenty of people taking part regular bkk workers, farmers from isaan, south and nua as well as business owners and students old and young. they laugh at what your saying mpst make more than 300baht per day working normal jobs. 300baht is what burmese factory workers make. state your case or stop spreading your own fiction
