Thailand gym attack: Hastings victim's face 'butchered'
woodsplinter replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am Scottish I don't hate the English! -
I will agree with you on that one. When i am driving along on the bike and i see the sand washed across the roads in the backwaters off Pattaya i am extra cautious and slow right down especially on the bends. Does not matter what tyres you have on-- sand acts like ice on Thai roads. If the road is busy with traffic the surface seems to clean itself with the backwash from the traffic and the sand blows away making it a bit safer. On Quiet roads-- no--Dodgy. On the subject off ABS ---cars have had them for years-- now its the motorbikes that seems to be a must have. You never Know when ABS can save you especially on a wet and greasy road and some thing pulls out in front off you. If you are not trained in how to use your brakes on a motorbike--your automatic reaction is to jam on the brakes in panic and that's a recipe for disaster. The front goes -Thats it. You only have 2 wheels not 4. If the front wheel goes from under you - you are off and you are going to face paint the road. I have seen many a bargirl with scars on their legs and arms and no skin.. Ha Ha . Painful lesson if you survived!

Yes --There will be nothing in the performance Between the 150 and 160 Honda Clicks performance wise . Maybe a small improvement in Torque and fuel economy. What attracts me is the step through and the ABS and LED lights. I live on the Dark side and drive around the back roads mainly. After the rains there is a lot of sand washed across the roads on bends ete. It scares the <deleted> out of me if i have to hit the brakes for some reason on a gravely surface and the front wheel locks. Down you go. If that is true that ABS is fitted in India on all bikes-- It is for a reason. A good reason. I will follow suit. If i can get hold off one -the next bike for me will be the New Honda Click 160 With ABS> The price is right for me .I like the PCX 160 but an extra 30,000 Baht. Mmmmmm.!!! The Click 160 suits all my Requirements for a back yard roundabout. I will put a top box on it and use in daylight hours only. Thanks Moonlover for that info re--ABS >>

If the new Honda Click 160 with ABS is 69.000 Baht on the road . That is acceptable to me. Good question Has this model got a kick start fitted or is it battery start only. I did not know that as my older Yamaha has both. And now we should all know what an underbone main frame tube is and the engine is fitted to that. Knowledge is everything and i am enlightened now.. Ask the question -Find out -Someone- if they are good enough to reply - will know. Thks.

So -76,500 Baht Is this the price for What?? I thought the price for the Honda click was in the 63k to the 70k range.

Yes --Not a lot off rust on vehicles in Thailand.. No salt used on the roads and wet and damp all off the time to cause underbody rust. Seen some photos of the underside off a Ford Ranger Here in the UK The vehicle was new (apart from Storage)Only a few months old. Absolutely shocking. Everything was starting to rust. This was in a rustproofing business in Scotland that specialized in Vehicle rustproofing and preservation. The before and after pictures was the difference between night and day. Absolutely shocking for a new vehicle . Have a look under your truck in Thailand. Has it got sealant and stone chip protection ?? I bet its not.. It puts me right off that and also manufactures that just paint the crossmembers and under bonnet in grey primer . No paint .Cheapskates. Nissan does for one .Look inside the engine bay off a nissan in Thailand and you will see what i mean. IT does not matter if you buy the car new and keep it for a few years. But it matters to me. I have seen the damage rust does to vehicles and its programmed in that cars will fail the MOT test due to corrosion. Google --Nissan Navara Chassis problems-- It was kept quiet. There was a field full off them in Scotland stored for scrap. I will not say to much so look it up. The chassis were build it Spain and Snapping in Half .Scandalous.-No rustproofing. Just black paint. The UV here must due a lot off damage but i think Thai people or most off them keep their cars and trucks clean well polished up and cared for. Maybe not so much on the mechanical side but certainly more so on the good looking side compared to Europe. There are some immaculate mint examples running around. Good to see. -
Its my understanding -There is a new Honda lead 125cc---Yes, The Honda click was sold in 125cc and 150cc models. Now The new Honda 160cc model is out. Yes- So 3 models now. The Honda 160 has the new 4 valve engine same as the Yamaha Aerox which has 4 valve as well. Yes Surely Honda will not be selling 3 models off the Honda click with the new 125 Lead model out as well. Yes Or NO. What is getting dropped. Thanks for the pics off the chassis --i dare say its like the engine brace on a hot car. It will make a difference on the handling. If i had the choice --i would prefer a key instead of being Keyless.-- I have never seen a new Honda 160 in real life but will do soon. With theses comments and once seen in real life i will make my mind up about the purchase. Sitting about 80% now as a buyer For the new click as long as the lead in time is less than 3 months.

Spot on Liverpool lOU We all know about the Yamaha Aerox 155 - Its -Handling and characteristics. Good well proven bike. The Honda click 160 is a step through whereas the Yakama Aerox 155 is a leg over job. Performance will be about the same . Fuel economy The Honda should be better. The frames on the 2 bikes are completely different (One being a step through) which means the handling characteristics will be different as well. The Honda has a new frame and until a few off these new Honda 160,s Hit the road and the reports good or bad start coming from people actually driving them - we can only wait.. The proof of the pudding IS actually in the eating so to speak..

The petrol in the Yamaha scooter has been in the tank and fuel lines now for nearly 2.5 years untouched. The bike and tank has not even been shaken - let alone stirred. What you guys are saying about the petrol in the gas tank means it must be rotten. I will be back in about 3 weeks and i will get this bike wheeled or pushed down to the motor bike shop. I will take some photos and post again with the remedies once the guys in the motorbike shop have it for for service and repair. I take it the carb will be bunged up as well. Thanks guys -Now i know what to expect and do to get this fixed and running again. Thks. -
The New Honda click 160 has a new redesigned frame. Maybe it drives and handles better than the old model because off that. Honda will not spend an exuberant amount off cash on redevelopment unless the new model handles better and that will include wheel size and tyres. Yet to see an English version road test on video. The proof will be in the pudding. Once a few hit the roads the comments good or bad will start poring in.

Good point about comparing fuel consumption between a click 125 and the new click 160. Looking at the cc capacity it would look on paper that the 160cc against the 125cc would use more fuel. Thats logical.. But - The new click 160 has a 4 valve engine and is supposed to be very fuel efficient. On Moonlovers link it quotes the New Honda Click At 46.9 km/litre. With a 5.5 litre tank capacity that gives the 160cc click a range of 258km. That is Phenomenal in my book. Does anyone know what the fuel consumption per litres is on the old model 125 cc click?

Honda Click Turbo --NO-- Its all about emissions and meeting new standards around the world on the new 4 valve engine but fuel economy does come into it. I think is has the same engine as the new PCX 160. With the price off fuel going up and by the way its never going back down around the world --Thais will look at this as another reason to buy the new Honda click 160. Farangs not so much. Moonlover -Thanks for that link-. There is some vids on Utube but cannot find any in English / Mostly the Philippines. I know its only a wee run-around but Honda has got this one right. Ideal for a runabout. It will sell in droves. Will be going to Honda Myton to find out what delivery time is..

Does anyone know if the New Honda click 160 is for sale in Thailand Yet? The one with the new 4 valve engine. If so how much ?? I believe a new ABS model. Will there be a waiting list and can you order now!! Thank you.

Thanks for all the replies. If the admin keeps this thread open i will report back what needs and gets done to the car and motor bike and how much it costs. We will be back in Thailand in 3 weeks time it will obviously be one off the first things that will need to be attended too. The petrol thing. The motor bike i have had for over 5 years now. It Is usually lying unused for 11 months or so. This time its2.5 years. I wheel it down to the bike shop every time. They oil change and anything else needs done gets done. I get it back the same day. The bike - Its got this annoying fault on it . From cold start it takes many attempts to start. once the engine is warm it starts right away. Every morning is the same -very hard to start .The rest off the day no problem. Its a Yamaha 135cc the last off the carb model --Not fuel injection. This fault has never been looked at and wondered then if it could be a petrol --carb fault This time i will definitely get this looked into. The plug gets changed every year as well. The mileage is not 12k yet. How due you clean a carb out-- Never done??? As for the car ---Somebody has motioned Rats-- I hope not. We have had a wiring problem in the house once when the outside lights wiring was eaten by rats Wife says it was the banana tree next door with the fronds hitting our roof . The coconut rats are running down the leaves onto our roof and into the loft. I have seen rats a couple off times scurrying about. We have had an aircon PCB board blown up buy Geckos and the motor for the electric gate which i disconnected for a year -on reconnection the motor stated to smoke. These was a big pile off red ants init. Miraculously the armature got rewired and refitted-Still working -i think 1200 baht. Happy with that price. On returning i wonder what will blow up this year. Used to use Redex additive in the uk. Must be an equivalent in Thailand. Anybody no what they use in Thailand for a petrol additive- That would be helpfull and where to buy???
