Sustento couldn't be more wrong describing Jeremy Clarkson as a desperate old man seeking publicity. Like him or not
he and the Top Gear series is one of the most successful ever screened on TV around the world. He is quite likely himself
already a multi-millionaire !

Post Office...really ? Wow. Imagine taking your motorbike into a post office in the Uk or any other Western nation. I am sure mailing a motorbike there would be
out of the question : staff would just laugh and say ' You nuts or what?'

I have been with Bangkok Bank for 7 years now and as soon as I heard from a friend of mine of mine that his magnetic strip card had been skimmed at Bangkok bank on Second road in Pattaya opposite he VC Lounge I immediately went to the main Branch, my Branch, near the Grand Sole hotel and changed my card to a microchip smart BE FIRST Card and I am so glad I did that. I think there was a small fee but it was well worth it and I have never had any problems in the 18 months I have had the new smart card. I recommend anyone with the simple magnetic strip cards to get them changed as quickly as possible.
My friend lost 200,000 baht in 2 days with his old card-type and to this day I believe he has not received any compensation
back from the bank. Just do it !

Little Mary Sunshine. 72 is just a number. Is is not very old these days. He has probably worked very hard for 55 years of those 72. How old are you? How many years have you worked to entitle you to a retirement life in the Land of smiles?

For goodness sake lads. Give him/her a break. Just get on with it lad. End it. There are millions of other suitors looking for a good farang out there.
MauGr1 I think he calls himself. had it in an nutshell. Do those things. You will soon forget her.

Phanat Nikhom Avoid it like the plague. A driver's nightmare. The worst area I have travelled through in my life ! I go another 20 miles wide to avoid it weather or not. Get out of there !

I never buy off-plan or in advance of construction. I want to see the completed item. I want to watch the direction of the sun coming up and setting, experience the traffic round and about the development, study the other occupants as far as possible particularly those who have purchased above and adjacent to me (in regard to Condo purchase). It worked well for me on my last purchase especially in regard to the noise and the sun. One thing didn't : many owners rent off their condo's to visitors for short-term lets. I hadn't factored that in my research.
You've probably bought poor quality and in this life you only get what you pay for. I may, of course, be wrong.

What is she doing here anyway. This place is for blokes ! ( sorry await the bad comments)

Don't bother going to KL. It rains every day in Malaysia. They have awful weather and its constant day after day after day. You get sick of the rain. Indonesia is the same...........never stops raining ! Also do you really want to spend your money with those people if you get my drift. Bangkok is 10 times better for lots of reasons.

Are bogus hostage claims now likely from all and sundry ?

Anyone know when is it / or when was it/ to go out on TV ? Usually watch it on BBC Knowledge Channel 18 True Visions. Jeremy Clarkson :one of the few straight talking guys left on this planet. Love it.

Wait for news. Might not be all bad. Hope so.

Most of us will try to defend the areas where we rent or have bought property, Samui, Phuket, Pattaya wherever. Its our natural instinct.
Just a thought.

A great post. Enjoyed your story. Think I am reaching a similar stage in my Thailand experience.

I've been told Bungmungrad Hospital, BKK is THE place to go if you are serious about submitting yourself to surgery.
Does anyone know the name of Surgeons who have the high reputation there in these procedures? Thanks anyone in advance.

Varun. I think you are wrong. Its highly likely the child is his and he must stand by her. If its an unwanted pregnancy thenabort if not too late.

Why are HQ TV staff encouraging readers to take their hard-earned cash to other countries? Beggars belief.
There is an unbelievable shortage of hotel and guest house accommodation in Myanmar, particularly in Yangon (Rangoon)
Very difficult to find rooms and the charges bear no comparison to what we pay in Thailand.

I would not recommend the purchase of a former TAXI as a private car. They are whacked out after such continued often day andnight use. Useful maintenance free life ended.

Not interested in ever going to Phuket again except maybe to catch a boat to other islands. That's it for me there.
I feel sad for those who have bought property in Phuket. Its heading downward fast.

Moderators. Thanks a lot. Very helpful. Ok I am Managing Director of my Thai Company ( for condo purchase ) so I will obviously give myself permission to stay at my condo. Where, then, now, shall I go to get the The Yellow Book and my name entered into it ?
Again, thanks in anticipation.

I have only ever had a BLUE BOOK ( for a condominium in thai company Name ) Should I be looking to get this changed to a Yellow Book ?
Thanks anyone

Well, who knows. Each to their own. There's pro's and con's whatever you do. Me, I prefer the heat. With Raynards syndrome you get white finger and cold body extremities hands and feet in the cold and it just doesn't suit me to live in the cold at all. As long as your health holds out you can stay in the LOS with few problems and don't have to party every night, though its there if you want it.

Just confirms all my own experiences after 3 suits made in Thailand, none of which I was content with and ended up just using for 'working suits'.
The idea of buying off-the-peg quality garments and having them altered here appeals to me as i'm minature in statue, not stature !

What will be the cost of that bad mistake?
Multi-Million Baht ATM robbery in Jomtien
in Pattaya News
Posted
Unwise to publish amounts held in ATM machines. News should just indicate that ' a sum of money has been stolen' This is the practice in the UK.
