Well my friend, you have had some good advice from seasoned experienced farangs here and i think you should come back to Thai Visa every step of the way.
Good luck in the future.

Sorry but my experience is that quality made-to-measure screens are not as cheap as has been made out by contributors. If you know a good firm in Chonburi province that manufactures them at a sensible price I would be glad to have some details.
Otherwise we continually close all windows and doors at 6-00 pm approx every day. Also for bites, Boots Anti-histamine cream in small tube from Boots (in UK not Thailand) (Orange box) is just great. Works within a few seconds on bites,.takes the sting away and relieves the area.

Tinhead Yes Yes, agree with you about 'Child Free Zones' The first poster who disagreed probably has loads of kids from that type of religious affiliation. Proliferate like rabbits. Isn't KL full of 'em

brfsa2. Is the University you mentioned in Sri Racha, Chonburi Province ? Sounds like ' Rachamongkon' when the the thai's name it. If so that's the place my gf is studying.
Where are Mahidol and Chulalongkhorn Uni's ? BKK ?

Jeyes Fluid keeps them away but the mothball ideas sound good.

Mario 2008. Thanks, very interesting. I didn't know you could do your re-entry permits at the 2 main airports. I usually go to Jomtien Beach in advance of leaving and pay 1,900 or 3,800 for multiple. Big queues but still very efficient staff.

Get ready to hit the markets lads

C'mon lads how much are we talking about here? Some of these Baht Bus franchisees pay a 1000 baht to hire the bus for a day I've heard. Then there's fuel, repairs, potential accidents. I feel so sorry sometimes for these would-be entrepeneurs running about empty most of the day trying to make a crumb.
Yes, I know there's the bad type too.

Transam. He's a good HOUSEKEEPER then.
I feel so sorry for the bloke letting his dx"qk rule his head like that. He is obviously a successful business-man.
How much do you think he will get back?
-
Exactly. We don't know what the poor guy has lost and shouldn't jump to conclusions. Could well be a mental breakdown. He may have lost his (thai) partner, his stock, his business, everything. In such a case he is entitled to go a little berserk though in different circumstances.

The likely result of you carrying a weapon is that it MAY BE USED ON YOU, the owner

Never ever had a problem on the ferries in Thailand but I always ensure I know the location of the life jackets when I board, seriously, always.
I wouldn't even consider going further south than Rayong after March until November. November to March is the only time I will head South. Its too rainy and unpredicable weather.and dangerous sea conditions.South Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia are just dreadful, rains every day. Don't need it.

BahbahBobo. You have it right dead on. Add me to that.

Yet another reason to keep out of Patong. There are so many now.

Change any magnetic strip only cards for Chip and Pin cards immediately. I did that with my Bangkok Bank magnetic strip card after a colleague was duped in a similar way at a Pattaya Branch of BKK Bank. He lost over 150,000 Baht. To this day, several months later, he is still negotiating with the BKK Bank but they are unlikely to reimburse him he feels.

Don't carry your passport around with you. At some point you are bound to lose it (or get it taken). Get a laminated reduced size copy of the picture page on one side and your current visa on the other. Make an A4 copy of your passport picture page and visa page also. Keep them in separate storage from your passport. Carry only the laminate with you along with your (Thai) driving licence and an accident Insurance Card (if you have that).

xylophone. The 'Returns Policy' for goods in Thailand is almost non-existent. Don't even bother trying to get refunds or replacements. Throw it out and bite the bullet. That's the position with most items here.

Wiil owners of these high-end vehicles be given an opportunity to remove them from Thailand if they can't/won't pay the import duty do you think?
